Advice I don't want to forget!

* Unsolicited advice for next year's 1L students. Call the BarBri office over the summer, find out who the rep for your school is. Maybe send a resume. If they are not taking applications, find out what will be the first day they are on campus. Introduce yourself to the rep, follow up on the resume if you sent one. In short, get the gig to be a BarBri rep for your class. This will save you a substantial amount of money your third year. It doesn't pay, but you get to take the Barbri review case for free.

What is BAR/BRI?

For those of you unfamiliar with BAR/BRI, the organization has been the preeminent bar exam prep service for more than 35 years. In addition to helping prepare you for that exam, BAR/BRI also is committed to helping student across their respective law school careers. As such, it provides coursework support for select 1L and 2L classes to help you prepare for exams, etc. For more information, you may visit www.barbri.com

What Does a BAR/BRI representative do?

A BAR/BRI representative is responsible for learning about the various services BAR/BRI offers to students and to encourage fellow classmates to participate in our service offerings beginning early in their respective law school careers. Representatives are expected not only to be a source of information for classmates during daily interaction, but will be expected to commit approximately 3 hours/month at mandatory “table days” held on Wednesdays throughout the semester in the law school’s atrium (scheduling is flexible). In addition, representative must be able to attend our initial meeting on September 10th at 11:00 a.m.

What are the advantages?

Every BAR/BRI representative that fulfills his/her duties will receive all the services BAR/BRI offers (including the bar exam and MPRE review) for FREE. As an example, the typical state bar exam course can cost over $2000. In addition, you get to work with and meet all the other BAR/BRI representatives from GMU, probably the greatest benefit :).

Positions are extremely limited, so please contact us ASAP if you’re interested. We will forward you a short application. For those selected from that pool, we will hold brief interviews on September 7th.
**My thoughts**
What would BAR/BRI be looking for in a representative?  How could Isaac get this position?
(800) 876-3086 is the number to the BAR/BRI of Virginia.  If we could call them and get the number for the office at Regent.  Then this summer all we have to do is call that office and figure out how to get Isaac in.  Sounds good, eh?
