Saturday Isaac wanted me to get my haircut. I had been really dreading this. My mom is a hairstylist and has always done my hair. She is the only one who has ever cut my hair. She owns an aveda concept salon and is the head sylist. If I was going to get my haircut here, it would have to be an aveda salon. That is the only way I think I could be calm. At least I know they would have gone to the aveda school instead of just any old cosmotology school. We went to the mall and as we were looking for the aveda salon we found a gameboard store called "The Go Store." We went in because... well because we love boardgames. We bought two:
St. Petersburg and
Ticket to Ride. St. Petersburg is really neat looking. The goal of the game is to build St. Petersburg. You are a member of the aristocracy such as Patriarch, Czar and Carpenter, Secretary, etc. You spend your rubles on buildings such as Church of the Resurrectiono f Jesus Christ, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Hermitage, the Winter Palace, etc. We haven't played it yet, but it looks really neat. Ticket to Ride is really neat, we played this on Saturday night with Isaac's mom. She enjoyed it and she hates "games." Ticket to Ride is a railway-themed German-style board game designed by Alan R. Moon and published in 2004 by Days of Wonder. Players collect different coloured 'railway car' cards, which are used to claim routes on a map of the United States and collect points. Additional points are gained by completing routes on the players' 'destination cards', and by claiming the longest route. I enjoyed this game a lot! After we bought our games we made our way to Anthony Vince Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa. I got over 6 inches cut off of my hair and its still very long. I can't believe it. I also bought a bottle of damage control. Its a hair strengthener and protector that I used for years, but my mom hadn't sent me any in a while so I decided to buy a bottle. It was weird to pay for a haircut.
Sunday we first went to K-mart to buy Isaac some new dumbells. While there I got a new
nightstand by Martha Stewart. Its really nice. Its not particle board or anything. Real wood. I like it. Zac spent an hour or so assembling it for me and I decorated it with all the nightstand essentials. We then went to the mall so we could pick up
October Sky for Isaac. He has to read it for his WV History course. I went to JCPenny's to get a free shirt for Zac. I got a
nick(it) tee coupon in my email so I printed it and didn't expect it to be very nice. I picked out a shirt that had a black chess pawn on it and under it, it simply says pawn. Its pretty cool. Isaac wore it to work this morning.
