Win some (and lose some)

Just got back from an interview with his Sergio-ness Dingdong Dantes.

It took me all the way to Subic (yesss, Subic!), where they were filming three episodes of Mari Mar.

It was THE BEST local celebrity interview I ever had in marie claire history. BAR NONE. I drew up the questions just minutes before the interview, but it wasn't the lack of preparation that I dreaded would faze me. Coming from the last interview with Marc Nelson--which didn't turn out too well given my standards--I was scared I'd turn into a bundle of nerves and screw up. I walked up to the set and caught a glimpse of Marian Rivera's petite frame, then was immediately introduced to Dingdong by road manager Lisa. We did the interview in a nearby office room after lunch, and I was just amazed by how relaxed and smooth the whole thing was. The conversation felt like me talking to a college friend. It was all over in 30 minutes!

The questions were simple, but now I think the formula for the perfect interview's beginning to show itself. First, mindset: thinking you call the shots (or to put it another way, thinking you're smarter than him/her, hehe). Second, chatting him/her up before the actual questions--it could be about the weather or the apparent lack of sleep on his/her eyes. Third, not relying completely on the questions; yep, it's actually fun to deviate and follow-up on the spot!

Nic was there with me the whole time, and yeah, I think both of us had good fun!

I didn't get any acceptance email from Ang INK. I'm beginning to wonder if it's just delayed (they said they would notify people yesterday). And I'm beginning to wonder whether it was anything I wrote on my application form that discouraged them; otherwise, I guess I should blame it on my crammed entries. Anyhoo, I already emailed one of them to ask--just in case.

Yes, I have denial written all over me.

Sighs.
