Awww, it's okay, JM... Did you know that Gillette is an official World Cup sponsor, though? Hehehe, sorry couldn't help it...
Strange, and stranger things happen (your line, Khalid), but not so strange as to make me despise the circumstances I'm in. Got home a quarter to twelve awhile ago, a dangerous time to be out alone in the streets by Manila standards. But as I've only proven a little over an hour back, Singapore and the Philippines are such worlds apart.
Kiko, Khalid and I were slugging it out over a last-minute issue. It was the first time I felt full responsibility for something work-related in a really really long time, and funny, but at the same time I was feeling thoroughly satisfied with what I was doing and the tons of things I had learned in that window of a few hours.
Dahil nage-gets ko na ang ginagawa ko. Oh. My. Gawd.
Anyway, I just knew somehow I'd make it back to the hotel safe and sound the moment I stepped out of dark, deserted Novena Square. The chatty Indian guard stationed for the night (apparently a Manila-based El Shaddai follower as he so revealed) directed me to the main road to hail a cab. I took his kindness and religious affiliation as a sign that God would give me a ride home soon. True enough, fifteen minutes later (and me on the verge of desperation), a kind cab driver made a U-turn just for me.
Hay... Praise the Lord!
