When I was a kid, all I did was watch FASHION TELEVISION (Jeanne Beker was my hero!), every saturday at 10am. Okay, I wasn't exactly a kid. More like preteen to early 20's. But I was convinced, a) I was going to be a famous fashion designer, b) All my fashion shows were going to be these crazy, over the top affairs, and c) Thierry Mugler was a god.
Hence, the title of this entry. Because GEORGE MICHAELS 'TOO FUNKY' was/has been/always will be my number one fave music vid, and mostly for the nostalgia, but wholly for the fact that THIERRY MUGLER created the most awesomest shit! That bustier/bike contraption Emma Sjoberg is wearing...that was going to be mine! I wanted to buy that shit and put it in an airtight glass case...after I wore it to fight crime with my matching MANOLO's.
Them's were the days. Mugler retired and I put off being the next great fashion designer. Things changed. Life went on.
But now, here I am going through the latest issue of MARIE CLAIRE and lo and behold, Mugler is back, as BEYONCE's costume designer and consultant for her WORLD TOUR!!! Is this a divind message that I should take the sewing machine out of the closet?
