Follow-up to raccoon story:

So Animal Control came and found 5 (five) baby raccoons in our chimney. He grabbed them all without looking and put them in a cage. He let them yell for a while outside to attract the mother, but she never came. He said the mother probably was killed in a trap or hit by a car (saaaaaadness). So he tried to put the five babies in an animal shelter but he said he's probably going to have to put them down. They were cute. :(

Let's see, this week was filled with 3 non-normal school days and 1 sick day.

Holocaust Day: We watched Schindler's List. It was a great movie, and of course the Holocaust and all other events of genocide are tragic, but I hate how Mr. Torney tried to pander us about Darfur (there is a genocidal regime there, but they never bother to tell us anything except that people are being killed). Of course, being complacent doesn't make you a good person, but it's not as if it's in our power to do anything about it. He said we could write a letter to Prez Bush or something, and of course Bush would read it and command people in Sudan to stop killing each other because kids in Elmhurst said so. I think it serves a better example to enjoy your life and become successful rather than beating yourself up and dedicating your life to trying to end genocide, ending up perhaps filled with a sense of pride but no personal fulfillment. Spuixpofhpe. I also hate how Mrs. Davis will say you're "emotionally retarded if you're not moved by film X or book Y." She's a bleeding-heart little vaginaface about that type stuff.

Physics Day: we went to Great America for like 982 hours. I did a lot of walking for one day and my face is burned from being outside so long. I rode 4 rides, only 1 being a rollercoaster: carousel, Demon, Big Easy Balloons, and bumper cars. The bumper cars are super fun. I think real cars should have rubber bumpers like those, because it would make accidents fun! The Demon was basically my first ever rollercoaster, and it was kind of tame: 2 loops and 2 corkscrews. I liked it allright. I hope to go to Six Flags over the summer and go on more rollercoasters. Overall it was all right but having to do a big physics packet kind of killed the joy of rollercoasters.

Art Institute: Today was kind of pointless. We went to the Art Institute for Spanish class and we only stayed there for about 45 minutes. Because of the time constraints we only went to one tiny wing of the museum with 18th-19th century European paintings. I wanted to maybe see some modern art or photography because canvas isn't the only medium on earth. We ate at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba, which is a tapas restaurant. There weren't very many actual tapas, and people mostly just ate paella (which was very tasty).

Anyway, I'm glad I got to skip so much class this week with not many repercussions. Now I have to do like 7 years of reading.

I always say I want to go to concerts but then I never go to them because I never plan things. But I would like to hold a T-Rex dance party in my backyard after school ends. We will dance badly with very light clothing to some great music, and maybe have some food if we get a new grill in time. (my grill is broken). I LOOK FORWARD TO PARTIES
