While Rio parties, Sochi prepares. This is the design for the 2014 Winter Olympic Stadium in the Russian city of Sochi:
I can't deny that it's eyecatching and appropriately symbolic. What's not clear to me is, apart from the opening and closing ceremonies, what's going to happen here?
And given the nature of winter, shouldn't that roof be totally closed? Just saying.
