¡Felicitaciones España! for winning the European Football Championship for the first time in 44 years.
Another milestone was passed last night when, after 40 years of commentating on international matches, the BBC's John Motson finally hung up his microphone.
Famous for his obscure statistics and peculiar turns of phrase, Motty bowed out after commentating on last night's final.
Some of his more memorable observations:
Brazil - they're so good it's like they are running round the pitch playing with themselves.
So different from the scenes in 1872, at the Cup Final none of us can remember.
I think this could be our best victory over Germany since the war.
Not the first half you might have expected - even though the score might suggest that it was.
Nearly all the Brazilian supporters are wearing yellow shirts - it's a fabulous kaleidoscope of colour.
For those of you watching in black and white, Spurs are in the all-yellow strip.
There's been a colour clash. Both teams are wearing white.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these players. Well, twice in a lifetime if you count the first match.
