I had a fairly good day at Big Central Elementary School, also known as Bratling Central. The three toughest classes, too. But hey! Two of the homeroom teachers are finally helping me out, which is very nice as they understand how to play their classes and I, only being there twice a month at best, really don't.

The third still just sits in back like a lump and gives them the answers to everything I ask. :|

But I got through, and at lunch I sat in the very middle of the worst class I know, and chatted with the little punks about what kind of animal we would be if we were one, and reassured them about swine flu. 'Cuz the town announcements warning us every evening have them all worried for no damn good reason.

So! Victory, say I.

On the way home, I saw four crows savaging a kite. They would just not let up on this giant bird, maybe a third again as large as any one of them. One would dive-bomb it while the other three kept close around, and they took turns. It kept trying to get away and crying out, the clear high stuttering call that usually means 'I see you there, little pigeon' or maybe 'this fly-fisher is throwing out all the fish guts!'... but this time, it didn't stop, and kept repeating, and my guess is it went rather more like 'help, help, I pissed off these fucking huge devil-crows, oh god somebody get them off me.'

No other kites came to help. When I lost sight, it was trying to lose them in the trees.

oh look a spider, oh japan, stories
