Stupid car...

So, I got up this morning and went to start my car...and it wouldn't start. It's a 2002 Subaru Outback and it's been very well-maintained, so it shouldn't be having issues. After about 2 minutes of turning it over, it *finally* started, so I carried it to the dealership, dropped it off and explained what happened. This behavior had happened before, but never took more then 3-4 seconds of turning over to start, so I always just chucked it up to being cold or wet weather causing it.

So a few hours later, they called me back and said they knew what the problem was. The computer needed a firmware update to fix an injection or firing issue that Subaru had identified. Since my car was out of warranty, they told me it'd be $150 or so to ship it off, get updated, shipped back and be reinstalled. Now, I have sort of a problem with this because it isn't like it's wear and tear...this in my eyes is clearly a defect. They don't have to pay for it, because as the warranty clearly states, anything beyond the years or milage is not covered, but still, it doesn't sit well with me that I'm paying for this.

Also, if you think you have a steady hand, try playing this flash game.

PS
Adam, I know you don't like run-on paragraphs, so even though the first two paragraphs should technically be one, I broke them in half for you.
