Hey mom, how's it going? The beauty here is amazing, and the people are as well. So far I've had my two day orientation, which was awesome, and now I eagerly await my first kitchen shift on Friday. I've already met quite a few employees, it's very similar to college here, just without the books...My address is P.O Box 80, Jasper AB, T0E 1E0, Cabin B6. I've been playing some basketball, and despite the thin air being difficult to adjust to, I've been surprised to find out that I'm actually not too bad at it. Haven't gotten the gym pass yet, will probably do that today. I'm going to walk around Lac Beauvert (beautiful green) today. Takes about an hour, and since the bears are still asleep, I can walk in peace. Actually, I hear the elk are more dangerous, as the seasons when they mate the males become very aggressive, and will charge anything that seems to be provoking them. An elk antler can pierce clean through a mini-van, and have...I saw two of the beasts at about three am on saturday when we got back from town, the size of them is incredible. They roam around freely all through here, as do big horn sheep, wolves, coyotes and the occasional bear or cougar. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to be. The calling cards dad bought me don't seem to be working, so I haven't been able to call shannon yet, but I'm missing her every second. Next time I write I'll include the number to the lodge, and you can be directed to the phone right in my cabin, just make sure you say "Lower cabin B", as it's two floors.
