Little Monkey Butts

My children, despite repeated cautions, begging, and outright threats of grounding until retirement age, still didn't let their dad sleep in this morning.  *sighs*  You'd think an almost-13-year-old and an 11-year-old could manage to follow directions, play quietly, and amuse their sister for just a little while when it's important.  We've been discussing this with them for a month now, and in greater detail since we had Bear's schedule, but apparently they're too thick-headed to listen.  Thus they will not be happy with Mom tonight, as there will be no computer time (they are already grounded from TV for a week due to misbehavior over the weekend) and I think I've got PLENTY of chores I can think up to keep them occupied.  And here I was being nice and reducing their schoolwork this week.  *GRRRR*

That said, Bear's working now and they're giving him full-time hours.  He worked 6p-3a last night and will work tonight through Wednesday night, get Thursday and Friday nights off, then back to work Saturday.   Yesterday wasn't so bad, him not being home, because I was off, but today and tomorrow are going to suck since we'll be doing the "hi-bye" routine.  But it'll be worth it in the long run.

We're skipping out on family Turkey Days (thankfully) in lieu of doing something at home and inviting the Panda over.  I need to get by the store to get the fixings, so I'll probably take Bear to work tonight and pick him up on his "lunch hour" to trade out the Jeep (as I love him dearly but don't want to retrieve him at 3am and the bus system here is horrid and doesn't run past 8pm).

I work today, tomorrow, and a half day on Wednesday, and then a 4-day weekend.  We're thinking of trying to make a day trip down south Friday to see Mamaw and a few others, but dread it because Miss Lenae hates riding in a car with a screaming passion.  I just hope she outgrows it sometime soon.
