Will the person who snitched my Sleep-through-the-night baby angel and replaced her with Wake-Every-Hour-to-Nurse kiddo please return the first version? ;-)
Thus has gone the last week or so. Lenae just doesn't want to sleep anymore (and she's not really napping enough during the day to be causing night waking). She wakes, nurses for 15-30 minutes, then back to sleep. Yesterday morning the little monkey wanted to play at 4 a.m., but I managed to convince her that sleep was better only after laying her tummy down on my chest where she could watch poor Mama's sleepy face.
Bear will ask if there's anything he can do. Groggy and grumpy the other night I said "Grow Boobs." But it is nice when she does get bellyachy and have a reason to be awake and he can go fetch the gripe water or walk her around til the gas bubble passes. Walking and me in the wee hours just doesn't happen. I'm enough of a klutz when I'm not sleep deprived.
I've started giving her a bottle at the 4 am wake up just to get 3 hours of sleep before work. Unfortunately it means she's usually getting two formula bottles a day now (both 4oz bottles) but I can live with that.
Her reflux isn't getting any better and she cries a bit after spitup (and calms if she's given a drink) so I think it hurts her throat. We're going to get the pediatrician to evaluate for meds and/or testing at her 4 month checkup, since she's had a couple episodes that were pretty severe (and gave me flashbacks of J2's GERD and projectile vomiting). Even if it's just a bit of children's mylanta to soothe the heartburn after spitup, that'd be good. Gripe water's great for gas and general tummyache but it's not for the refluxing.
Hopefully I'll start being a better LJ reader soon, when I have a bit more brain function other than "huh, wah?" all day.
