7 weeks thereabouts

Miss Lenae slept 6 hours last night (from 11:30 until 5:30), giving me another one of those startle awake moments where you realize "too much" time has passed since you've heard the baby. She was just waking and nuzzling around to nurse.

Breastfeeding is going as well as can be expected. I'm still able to only pump 8-10oz a day, which doesn't cover her for the time I'm away for work, so we are supplementing with Nutramigen still (about 6-7oz a day). At her two-month appointment later this month, her dad is going to ask if we can ease her off the expensive Nutramigen and onto something like Gentlease. She's very spitty on the Nutramigen and it goes through her like crazy (she'll down 3-4oz and cry hungry 2 hours later, whereas the breastmilk evens out to about 1oz per hour). She was having some lazy latch issues, but we cleared those up by getting new nipples for the Playtex bottles and switching to those instead of the regular Gerber bottles.

Her bellyaches are down to maybe one per day, although we haven't been able to trace it to any one thing. For those of you on elimination diets, what signs did you notice in your baby of problems with dairy, soy, etc? Her gas is fairly random... she'll fuss for 30-40 minutes, toot like crazy, and then is usually done for the day on bellyache for the most part. Gripe water generally clears up the worst of it.

We're still cosleeping, though still without dad. We just couldn't all three sandwich into our bed, especially with frequent night feedings. She's also enamoured of the lovely play gym her great uncle bought her, which gives dad some time without baby in tow 24/7 when I'm not there.

Last night we had our worst EWWWW moment on spitting up. I'd gone to my Aquamoms class and thus Lenae had an extra bottle before I was home for the evening - about 3oz of breastmilk. I misheard hubby on what time she'd last eaten, so when she got a little fussy, I started nursing her... and her belly was a bit overfull. She spit up (well, she barfed, poor kid) the extra milk right on my boob. Talk about your gross feelings...

We also had our first really gross diaper this weekend. Poopy everywhere and she was doing her best to get hands and feet in it. We looked like a game of Twister with one of my sons nabbing her hands and one nabbing her feet while I mopped up the mess.
