I'll probably be around less and less over the next few weeks. Normally I play catchup a bit at work on LJ reading (lunch and breaks) but with training the new temp and other errands, maybe not so much. So if anything major happens for folks, I apologize ahead of time if I miss it or don't comment.
My sister dubbed it nesting, but I dubbed it "getting off my butt and getting done". I had no urge to get baby stuff ready, other than a conviction if I didn't, I'd regret it if baby comes early.
So all baby clothes got washed and sorted by age, with the 3 months + stuff being boxed up for later. We also discovered MORE blankets in our stash, so there are now at least two packs of blankets and two packs of newborn onesies in the "to be exchanged" bag. Kiddo already has over two weeks worth of clothes in the newborn size. J1 was helping me fold baby clothes and just held up a onesie and asked if she was really going to be THAT small. He just can't quite picture her fitting into that tiny little thing.
Carseat cover and bouncy cover got washed too, but I still need to wash the bassinet coverings. My sister and her friend came by and brought the bottom pad/piece to the playpen they'd forgotten when they bought the playpen. Hospital bag is packed except for my toiletries and my belly pillow (I forgot to buy stuffing for the one I'm making). If I don't get around to going to Wal-mart for stuffing, I'll just stick my "hug" in there (it's a pillow, but with beanies instead of stuffing).
Next OB appointment is Thursday, so we are going to tour the hospital afterwards if they are not too busy on the maternity floor.
My MIL will be driving up April 12th so that she can stay with the boys while we are at the hospital. My sister informed me yesterday that she is off April 13th and planning to drive up the night before, but I'm going to have to call and politely ask her to wait and come up the 13th instead. She'd get up to our house late (9-10 p.m.) and then if the surgery is early morning like with J2, we'd be having to get up at 4-5 a.m. anyway. Not good since she'd probably have my not-quite-4-year-old niece with her... hard on that lil gal. If she left out 6 a.m. or so from home, she'd arrive in NLR in time for baby or very shortly thereafter anyway.
Had contractions off and on yesterday evening, just enough to drive me nuts without being serious. They happened periodically during the night. Still BH, I think, but annoying. Tummy feels completely bruised... I remember this stage of pregnancy well and not with fondness! I kept telling baby "not yet, the temp's not trained!" Haha - like she'd listen if she was serious about coming early. I'm having to watch my feet... swelling's getting rough now, but thankfully not anywhere else so we don't have to worry about pre-e.
