Weight Gain: 0 lbs since 2 weeks ago. 16 lbs total pregnancy. BP: 116/68. Baby heartrate: 138.
Yesterday's OB appointment went well. The boys actually got brave enough to come back and hear the heartbeat on doppler. Apparently, this gave Miss Lenae an audience to show off for, because Dr. Chang had the darndest time chasing her down for the heartbeat. Lots of "whoosh, whoosh" of her running away or thumps where she hit the doppler, then finally he managed to get a reading on the left side of my belly. Bear said "maybe she's shy" and Dr. Chang laughed and said she'd have to get over being shy with two big brothers around.
We did ask him about the extreme amount of hot flashes I've been having and he said if I'm showing signs of dehydration (a possible cause) to up my fluid intake, but he also agreed that part of it is just the higher body temperature and blood pressure of pregnancy. My BP is low normally, and when I was pregnant with both boys, it remained fairly low and had the doc then monitoring it fairly closely. Since it has been in the normal range for this pregnancy, Dr. Chang feels I may just be coping with body heat I'm not used to having (I'm a chillie willie who sleeps in flannel PJs and under a comforter in August!)
This led to the family joke of telling the baby to "cook faster" so she can hurry up and get here, which Dr. Chang joked that maybe the baby'd found the theromostat and was trying to up the temp!
So everything's going well and on track for our little April arrival.
