Today will be a busy day... lunchtime meeting (OT + free lunch, who can complain), then I have to drop off materials at the convention center on my way home (or maybe earlier in the afternoon).
Tomorrow I leave at 2:30 because I have an OB appointment, hopefully just to draw blood, but since Dr. C has a way of surprising us with stuff, Bear will go along just in case. I did forget to mention before that his nurse, while a bit abrupt, has to be the absolute BEST blood-drawer I've ever had. Normally they have to use a "butterfly" to draw blood - the regular needle usually won't work. Not only did she get it to work, she was so good I didn't even feel it until she started actually filling the vials. Hopefully she'll be the one tomorrow that does my blood draw.
The boys had a good time trick-or-treating. J1 whined and fussed and didn't like any costume suggestions, so he ended up at the last moment being a Black Eyed P. J2, however, loved his dad's laundry basket suggestion, so he was rather cute with basket around his waist (after we cut out the bottom) and some of their outgrown clothes strategically draped in it. Add in some socks, underwear, and dryer sheets pinned to him, and he got a lot of laughs from folks.
We had to cut things shorter than we'd planned because the Jeep decided to be cranky. Bear is trying to figure out what's up with it. I pray it is something simple (like replacing a belt), as we sure can't afford any expensive repairs after J1's hospital stay. At least I live and work on the bus routes here, if need be, although it would make parts of work difficult (I do the snack cupboard shopping, the bank runs, the post office runs, the lunch runs, etc.)
Which reminds me... I forgot to journal that I went full-time permanent at the end of September. Boss offered me the permanent job on the Friday after I started, making 7 working days a new record to have my contract bought out from a temp agency. So far everything is still good... the job has its slow points, like any job, but it seems to be a good one. Boss keeps asking me if I need to nap during the day... I did tell her about the pregnancy before the permanent offer was set in stone. She said I didn't have to tell her, thanked me, said it didn't change anything other than be sure to hire a temp in March to train up in time to cover my maternity leave. How's that for good omens? She also asked around to find me the name of a good pediatrician, so I'll have to get the boys' PCP transferred over.
Speaking of work... back to it. Busy day today - and BUSY week next week with the banquet and all.
