Well, I said more frequent updates...

Best of intentions and all that, but obviously I didn't get much of anywhere. The computer actually got turned on a few times, but I didn't make it as far as actually getting online. Blame part of it on obsessively reading the last book in Michael A. Stackpole's DragonCrown cycle. Great fantasy series folks - highly recommended, especially if you like authors who don't play by the formulaic rules of who survives the great quests. Once I get hubby's Big Coding Project done for him, I'm going to revamp my own site and database my reading lists from 2003-2005, then actually get around to listing this year's stuff. Haven't kept up with much of that this year.

Work is hectic and frantic as ever. Our main IT guy's last day is on Monday, and one of the print graphic artists is leaving as well. Both of them are moving to the same city out of state. Makes me wonder if the spouse of one of them is along for the ride? Who knows. We probably won't replace the print artist, since our web graphic artist was always short of things to do. She'll absorb some print work, I'd imagine, as her qualifications lie more in that arena. IT position has not yet been filled, although I've been trying to get ahold of one guy. Hopefully that will work out, but in the meantime, I'm going to get tugged more and more into IT and less into Internet Marketing, I imagine. I am supposed to get a straight answer on Monday over hiring a new person for my department. With the personnel changes plus various vacations, we have slowly slid more and more behind, at a time when more and more business is coming in for us.

My insomnia has defied all odds, but at least the last two nights I've been asleep before eleven. I doubt it'll keep up, but it would be rather nice if it did. I miss the days when I could crawl into bed and say "Goodnight" and be asleep three seconds later.

Lots of new babies on my f-list... congrats to hillarygayle on the birth of Ganon and aikoheiwa on the birth of Matthew. As per usual, everyone has babies *around* my birthday, not on it. *sniff, sniff* Welcome to the wonderful world of mother-to-boys. It is a interesting and challenging world, but worth every single second.

Speaking of boys, J1 and J2 finished their summer reading program with CALS this past week. J1's goal was 21 books in 6 weeks, and J2's was 12 books in 6 weeks. J1 read 39 books and J2 read 21 books, overshooting both goals by a nice margin. They are rather proud of themselves and had quite a lot of fun at the skating party on Thursday.

One thing I did mean to journal this week, if nothing else but to tease amajos, was that she flung my cat across the room. *grins* That's not quite as bad as it sounds. She was holding the cat, petting her, when hubby was loading the dishwasher. He turned the garbage disposal on (which Panda has a phobia about anyway), and apparently one of the boys had left a piece of silverware in that side of the sink that made its way down into the disposal unseen. The resultant noise and Panda's shrill scream scared the bejeezus out of the cat, who gave Panda some rather livid slashes, causing the propulsion of said cat away from her. Kitty was very forgiving, once she calmed down, anyway. Cat survived, Panda survived, but the poor spoon down the disposal didn't make it.

Time to go do some work...TTFN.
