It's Just Too Darn HUMID!

Conversation in the office kitchenette:

Coworker: ANGIE! WHY are you making a hot drink in the middle of the afternoon?
Me: Huh? (brain fog sets in about 3 pm every day without my cup of tea)
Coworker: *points to steaming cup of water* THAT! Are you nuts? It's like 85 degrees in the office!
Me: *evil grin* Not in MY office.

They really envy me my office, which is silly. I think if they had to work in the Ice Box, they'd rapidly decide their side isn't so bad. But I'm in the office branch with separate A/C, and the server room's nearby, so the A/C is set below 70 to try to keep that room cold. I run around with frozen fingers and nose constantly sneezing like I have a winter cold.

Then I get to plunge outside into a heat index of 106 and humidity so strong you are soaked head to toe five seconds after you step outside - and a vehicle with no A/C. So I'd definately trade offices with my warmer-climed coworkers. They could even keep the fans they have running at their desks. ;-)

And I'm gonna stick to my description that sunfell agreed with: summertime in the American South is like walking around in warm jello outdoors. ;-) Stunningly, the humidity today reports in at *only* 56%.

Speaking of outdoors, the poor birdies keep committing suicide outside my office. The glass in my window-doors as well as the two other businesses' office glass is a lure. I think it is also because of the hedges, magnolia tree, and the flowering tree that frame the alcove. At least twice a week for the past month I've had to remove little bird bodies from the sidewalk, poor things. Today I had a half-grown birdie trying his best to perch on the no-soliciting sign on my door. It was kind of cute, once I realized he couldn't fly well enough to hurt himself on the glass.

Oh - and there are some Little Rock pics up at hubby's photo gallery, in the log-in section. He's trying to build up a collection of all the usual and unusual site seeing places around town, not just the Clinton Library everyone's so obsessed with in the last year or so.

Ah well, my nice cup of blueberry tea's about gone, so back to work I go.
