TM 368 - "To Begin Again"

Jan 08, 2011 02:30

It is but to keep the nerves at strain,
To dry one's eyes and laugh at a fall,
And baffled, get up to begin again,-
So the chase takes up one's life, that's all.
--Life in a Love, Robert Browning

I haven't failed. Never think that. Saving the world takes time. It takes effort. Only a fool would expect it to be easy.
I'm no fool.
They can mock me. They can misinterpret. They can resist. I will bear these slings and arrows, because I know more than they. I have a duty that comes with my gift.
I will not let them deter me. I will not stoop, I will not hesitate and I will never stop. That would be failure. Gods are not to be pitied, and gods do not fail.

However, I am under no obligation to be a benevolent god. My first order of business will be to remind the world in general and Gotham in particular of that fact.

Note to Dr. Arkham: Jeremiah - I think, perhaps, free writing time isn’t a useful tool in Dr. Crane’s therapy. It’s been weeks, and the products are all variations on the same theme. It only serves to agitate him, it seems. He’s been trying to send these manifestos out - the guards found one addressed to Bruce Wayne.

I think we ought to explore the alternate treatments we’ve discussed. A. R.
