I went up to London during the day last Sunday Rottersand was playing at six o'clock; so I thought I'd have a look round Camden earlier. It has been ages since I have been up there during the day, with the Dev no longer being a Goth pub I haven't really had a reason to go during the day for ages. Camden now seems to be a complete pit, it's full of bad, overpriced tacky hippy shops, with the market full of food stalls. It also seems to be a lot less busy, though whether that is because it has lost its alternative fashion attraction or people simply do have the money I don't know.
The gig itself was very good, deviant UK manage to get people moving early in the night and Rottersand finished the night off well. I had to head off before the very end to catch the Tube back to Waterloo, which was a shame. It was good to see Dave and Anna, Geoff and Alex, up there and I think everyone had a good time. It does seem though as they as if the pub and club scene in the UK is really taking a beating at the moment. It must be a compilation of the recession, smoking laws and the new drinks laws. I think in result has been a downward spiral, because fewer people are going out, you are less likely to meet people when you are out, which means you less inclined to go out.
camden is a pit
