It is time to write about a bunch of my favorite jams with the intention of receiving any sort of feedback and additional comments from the livejournal community!
categories of godly music that everyone should shit their pants over:
I. SOUNDTRACKS, there are so many amazing soundtracks. I just want them all to live with me. They make me feel like I am in a really good movie.
PULP FICTION. The other week I was flipping through used CDs when suddenly I hear a voice and maybe see a beam of light coming through the "P" section. "Noa. You have arrived to the right place at the right time. Bail me out of here with what's left in your wallet and I will better your life". And so it did.
Also included:
-The Royal Tenenbaums
-The Life Aquatic
-24 Hour Party People
-SLC Punk!
-True Stories
II. More David Byrne. A while back a friend of mine recommended that I get hold of David Byrne's Lead Us Not Into Temptation. Finally I got the chance to purchase it. Yes, I bought it full price without ever listening to it, because well, David Byrne and I have a special relationship. Anyway, I popped it in expecting David Byrne's voice to grace me with his audio presence, but of course his voice did not show up. The album was far from what i thought it would be, with simple, beautiful sounds and almost no vocals. Some of it of course creepy. Other parts jazzy. My point is, if you have not heard Lead Us Not Into Temptation.... well, you probably should.

III. POST-PUNK. Well, I am always listening to post-punk. But you know, reiteration. people do that sometimes. And lately it has been massive. I guess watching 24 hour party people kind of got me lost in the 80s for a few weeks. Even though I never existed in the 80s. It's kind of weird to think about, right now I like not only a type of music, but a culture that existed when I did not (exist). I wonder how this counterculture will be summed up in a book when it is over. I want to be a part of it! What will I say I listened to when I was a kid? I am am am a part of it. Just not at the moment. But it will come back around, it's inevitable. It's in people's cars, in basements. And well, I guess those are the only 2 places I go ever. Ha ha. Oh, and,
Radiohead: I will come back to you shortly!
IV. PIXIES. They are so fine. Rock on.
