Weekends....they are never long enough.....(daydreaming)

I would really like to go to a 4 day work week…..Even while gas was threatening to go past (and in some cases it did) the $5.00 per gallon mark, a lot of employers were looking at the option. Even my employer was looking at the feasibility of it. There are a handful of folks that drive a good bit to get to work where I work. We have some driving in from Dandridge/Kodak area, Friendsville, Niota, Athens, Lafollette, and some from Straw Plains, Lenoir City, Maryville and Oak Ridge, Coryton, Powell, Halls. There are some days, a lot of them actually, that I wish, we didn’t live so close to work and the city. Sure, we have the convenience of being so close, but we also have increasing crime rate, (It is a rare day indeed when we DON’T hear a siren or the startling sound of a gun being fired anymore) More and more of our neighbors are of the Latino persuasion. Which there is nothing wrong with the general idea (they have some excellent cuisine), except with the good, you have to take the bad and most of the time the bad outweighs the good 3-1 or so. But of course now, that gas prices are falling, they have placed that discussion on the back burners…..hello, ever hear of conservation? What happened to all that “green talk” we would hear about leaking from the conference room? Even if they did offer the 4 day plan, they would probably only offer it to those that live outside the city. That would be my luck!

Rick wants to rent (mostly worry-free) a condo or loft in the city. I want an old farmhouse out in the woods that has acreage. Hello honey!!!! We need to get rid of this sedentary lifestyle!! (even something that didn’t have access to TV signal would be nice) ‘Would definitely need Internet….Hell, they are putting TV shows on the web now. Some free range chickens would be cool….of course I guess with Lucy, I would have to set them up in a fenced area or I wouldn’t have many for long or they would be too stressed to lay eggs….I would like to get a couple of sheep too, to support my spinning habit (and the habits of others as well). Not a common breed either, that way, their wool would be worth more. J Speaking of Honey, if we had acreage, we could keep bees too!

Well, anyway…..enough daydreaming….

Cammie gave us quite the scare yesterday….She went out to a Bonfire Saturday night with a few friends….I woke up Sunday morning and there was no jeep in the driveway. Crap….she didn’t come home. I checked my cell, no voicemail or text. We have told her and told her that we didn’t mind her staying out late, but if she was staying way late or overnight, to call our cell phones or text us that she was ok, that she was coming home later, etc. That way, we would not worry that she was in a ditch somewhere, or kidnapped, or whatever. My mind was thinking, bonfire, someone slipped her a Mickey or ruffy and they had their way with her and she has no clue where she is, or that she was crashed in a ditch and unconscious or worse (like that couple that got carjacked, etc, etc… (Brain tried not to go that route, but I was losing)….anyway, you get the idea, way too many scenarios going through the head!! The later it got, the more messages we left for her and the more texts we sent. She finally called about 2pm. She had just woken up, she was at a friend’s house, and they stayed up til 7am watching TV and her phone was dead. We had no telephone numbers or names to start calling friends….I could have beat the crap out of her when she walked in the door, but I just hugged her neck instead. Now we have a list of numbers on the fridge in case of emergencies….

Ok, next topic! My new spinning wheel that is being shipped to me as of this writing!!!!  Found a really killer deal on EBay. The lady at the Spinnery in G-burg wanted over $600 for just the wheel itself  by the time you tacked on the taxes….Rick found this one, Brand new, which included 3 bobbins, a niddy-noddy and a pound of wool to spin! And get this all for $440.00!!! Plus, we had a 10% coupon from EBay, saving us an additional $40.40! WOOT!!! Ooooh, did I mention free shipping!!!!!!!!!!!! It should be here before the end of the week!!! I will have the assembly instructions already (from the Ashford website) with the required tools to assist in the Assemblage and the Tung oil….Crap….If I want to decorate it, I will have to do that before the assembly….hmmmm. Now I need to go to Lowe’s and see how much the colored stain is. Damn……Celtic stencils…..need to find some really nice Celtic stencils. Oh what color???? Blue? Purple? Green? Ok, step back, breathe….

Ooooohhhhh!!!!! The wheel……the wheel of the year!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ohhhh, the orgasmic thought of it!!!!    Ooooh, the mind spinning possibilities!

Hmmmm…

Wheel= Wheel of the year

The Mother of All= a Goddess symbol

The 4 legs= the 4 elements…..probably too busy

The peddles= One for the God and One for the Goddess

Or …….

Or, if some strange reason I have to sell it….all that decoration will inhibit a good reselling price or at the very least limit it to one demographic……. Damn, I hate it when my brain plays Good Cop, Bad Cop!

Yea, I am having a hard time concentrating on work today. Between the anticipation of a new playtoy and a field trip coming up this weekend, I was doomed…….LOL
