hiiiiiiii!
As usual, the end of the semester is approaching and ekkachakka deadlines are to be met! So pardon me for not updating :p Here's a quick list of the more important things in the past/present/future:
1. I'm definitely going to Canada next sem! University of Waterloo! It's confirmed :) So air tickets and accommodation are still being finalized. Term begins on 3rd January and ends on 21st April. After staying in Waterloo for a couple more days, we'll be going travelling! Mainly to the east coast of US - but probably not upto Texas n all. I guess New York, Philadelphia kinda places. And May 17th, will return to Toronto after which I've got about 2 weeks to slack till my family and Rachu's family join me. Dunno plans yet, but Niagara Falls might be the first in the itenary, then we'll fly down to California to see DISNEYLAND! I'm EXTREEEEEMELY excited! :D :D :D :D There are 7 others from Engineering going to UW, but none from EE :( We're gonna travel n all together. And all are leaving on 17th May, except my future roommate whose parents are also going to Calif in June! So let's see. Must decide what to do. Oh and Pallavi and family are there in Toronto, about 45min from UW. So I've been bugging them a lott and they've been so helpful! :) I've also been majorly bugging Aditya's friend, Neil. Thanks sooo much y'all! :) And I'm going in Winter! Woohoooo!
2. So exams end on 4th December. I've got one paper on 25th Nov, and 2 on 4th. And then leaving for Chennai on 7th. Will go to Bombay for about 4 days in the middle, and maybe Chidambaram for one day. Returning to Singapore on 28th morning. After resting for a while, and doing last minute packing, I'm leaving for Canada on 29th night! Will reach Toronto at 1900hrs on 30th December. Nothing's confirmed - it's all tentative.
3. Driving exam was pathetic the first time. I got 36 points and one horrible Immediate Failure after turning into the wrong lane! God it was awful. But the second time was so much better, and I've passed! Yay! So I've got a driving license with me grinning like a loosu in my wallet. Haven't driven since my exam though. I think parents are too scared hehe. I shall bug appa tomorrow. But such a relief to have passed. He gave me only 6 points and seemed pretty slack! :) Name was Loo CL or something, so if any of you get him, don't worry too much!
4. Watched Don - The Chase Begins Again about 2 weeks back with Neela, her mom and Krups. Coz Aunty had free tickets :) It was really cool actually, after what I expected. I was thinking it'll be some sad remake of Amitabh Bachan's movie and a very pathetic attempt to copy his coolness and indifference, but SRK did well! Actually everyone says he was overacting, but I dunno. It all blended in well enough. And I thought the story was, though illogical, pretty interesting. Didn't fall asleep at all despite the movie going on till 1! Neela slept though heheh. And songs were not bad - especially Aaj Ki Raat and Mourya Re.
5. Which brings me to my next point. I'm going for Shankar Ehsaan Loy's concert next Saturday! I didn't even know people were going for it so everytime Appa, Amma and Neela said "GO FOR IT LOOSE!", I thought Nah, nobody else is going. And this morning, Raghu C'ppa came home and said there were 14/15 people going! So I said "naanum varen!" And so, I'm going. There's a website of theirs, http://www.shankarehsaanloy.com, and the forum is not bad. It's called "The Cafe" and Ehsaan actually replies to people's questions! So I've also written something hehe. Let's see if he replies. And now I'm gonna go to raaga.com to do research on their songs. Homework :)
6. My lowe for Naresh Iyer is still burning strong! :p His voice is too good man. Was listening to Innisai from Godfather. It's sooo nice :) :) And the community on Orkut is really active! And very friendly people there. I'm hoping there's a chance I get to meet him this time in India! Before he gets extreeeemely famous and busy!
7. I've been going late everywhere. Like to lectures and all. So I got one horrible punishment last night in my dreams. Nightmare rather. Amma found it so amusing she laughed like mad. Not because of the unrealistic stuff in the nightmare, but sadistically, like "Haha. Serves you right for always being late" kinda thing. Basically, I had an English exam that day. I thought it was at 9am, and I only woke up at 8.30. So rushed like MAD and just checked my timetable before leaving, n it turned out the exam was only at 5pm. So I stayed at home, had lunch n all. And left with Amma and Appa (got them to drop me) at around 4.30. It was so dark. Like night. And the exam was in MPSH in NUS. Heh. Then, by the time I reached, it was 5.20! Exam starts at 5 man! So I got soooo stressed. Made Appa speed like mad. Got lots of scolding and all. Then we reached MPSH. Appa asked if he should come n speak to the lecturers to explain why I was late! And I was like "ille pa, paravala". Amma was sitting there looking at the street directory. Then I reached MPSH, and it looked like the Cedar hall. I opened the door and Raji Paati was waiting inside for me :p She took my bag. And I asked "is my face full of paasi-paruppu-podi?" (coz I apply that on my face quite often). And she said "aama, remove it". And all this time, people were patiently waiting for me to start the exam! And there was radio music playing in the background also! After that, I think I became semi-awake so dunno what happened. hehehe. So weird. I guess it wasn't really a nightmare, since nothing bad happened. But what a way to remind me to be punctual! Aaaah.
8. Happpppyyyy Diwali to everyone! And Eid Mubaraq! Diwali was awesome! Really really fun as always! I've put up photos at http://arkans.myphotoalbum.com. G12 rocks! And before that was Neela and Mo's 21st birthday! I've put up pics of those also. Sorry for looking like such a freak. I had to play Archanya Rai - Bollywood actress with lots of accolades behind me, freshly entering Hollywood with my sister, Charanya Rai. It was such a fun party with EXCELLENT planning! They gave all of us characters, with a script and a proper storyline with a murder-suspense theme. And everyone came perfectly dressed :) Reallyyyyy nice party! And I bought tons of make-up just for that, so Neela and Krups are so happy. Cracks. Put on some for Diwali as well, winning one award hehe. Thanks guys.
