The house is away at a festival of all things Scottish to the north of here, all of them but J who's in San Diego house hunting, and me who agreed to do another 6 hour weekend stint covering a shift at work. I'm still not getting things done like I should, as the sheer impossibility of all that I need to get done weighs me down like the weight of the world. Autumn is hard, even a sublimely beautiful season like central Texas has been getting for the last little while. I should run away north to find some snow to roll in, or east or west or south to find some place warmer, greener, happier. This year's Autumn is finer than most, a welcome repayment for the blistering heat of the summer now past. But it seems gray to me, drawn and long of shadows and clouds, now matter how bight the days are. Autumn has usually been a hard season for my family, but like all seasons, it shall pass.
