I think I need a new job.
So the other day, a customer comes in, teenager age range. Acting all wannabe gangsta (Reminder, I work in one of the richest neighborhoods in the area). He's bouncing, repeatedly asking for something with nuts in it. I resist the urge to make a joke and offer a few flavors. He asks for something with nuts and vanilla, so I give him a taste of the closest thing. He takes the sample, thanks me for giving him some nuts and turns to leave.
Now, at this point, my restraint has taken all it can, I am not fond at all of gang culture, or those posing as part of it, moreso of the people who take free tastes without the intent to buy. So I simply respond, "Thank you for enjoying my nuts." before heading into the backroom. Probably one of the worst things I've said to a customer (while meaning to say it) in a good long while, and sadly, it felt pretty good.
