POP THOSE CORKS PEOPLE

Yes, that IS exactly what it looks like... NEW ALL-STARS MOVIE! :D

Bliss! AS 2: Old Stars, out in October.

We'll never get it here, fuckit. Still, bridge, cross, yada.

Now, before you say canon windback - Willem is alive and well, FUCK YES - maybe it isn't. It seems to be explicitly a film sequel, not just because of the return to Original Cast, either - note Danny de Munk (Bram.0) and Daniel Boissevain (Johnny.0, Johnny.1) * (although note: we have Nemo instead of Hero this time round, as per their interchangeability in the series...**). Willem atent dead; Peter atent married, Bram lives in Spain...

All of which - but mostly the Willem thing - begs the question, does the series "count", canonically, in relation to this? Dear God I wish I spoke enough Dutch to find out whether there are Big Who-style Fannish Squabbles going on - it would be gloriously entertaining :)

Anyway. Should be lovely and Season-Oneish, going by the synopsis: As far as I can make out, the boys poddle over to Spain for a big match, Things Go Wrong, and there's a bit of midlife reassessment happening. All a bit Auf Wiedersehen Pet, yes, but there's nothing bloody wrong with that.

Oh, and: Nemo is off the weed (bugger) and a practising convert to Islam! Trufax. Tempting to resist the urge to assume this is replacing Bram's sexuality as the Difference Trigger, even if the character profiles *do* explicitly link Johnny to PVV thinking :(

Anyway. Wibble wibble glee :) Middle-aged Swift Boys are love. Needless to say I wore my Swift Boys shirt to preschool on Footy Colours Day last week :)

* distinction between original film and telly series.
ETA ** RIP Antonie Kamerling - aw fuck :(

Deliriously happy about this :) even though I'm on record about Kees Boot as Johnny.2 growing on me, lots and indelibly and whatever. But - REAL PROPER JOHNNY WITH HIS REAL PROPER HAIR - win however you look at it.
