Spent a day in Toddler Room today... I'd forgotten exactly how unstructured it all is within the "play, food, nappies, play, nappies, food, sleep, nappies, play, food, nappies, play, nappies" uberstructure, that is. Toddlers are batshit beautiful and I love their company but gods all those grotty stinky bums? DO NOT MISS.
Back aching like buggery; did it putting one of our larger kids on the toilet about 11 and it's been stiff/painful ever since. Again: do not miss.
On the other hand: WE CAN HAS BOY TEACHER?!!? or at least a tall dark handsome 18yo in search of direction and pin money - boss wheedling him towards taking up a traineeship. Second day with us today; while he seems to be flirting with childcare as a short-term pay fix rather than having any specific interest in it as a field of work, he is actually rather good with the little buggers (and they adore him). Watch this space. Only problem: he's clearly destined for preschool - keeping the antsy lads happy/in line is where he'll be most useful - which means someone will have to shift to Tods. And it won't be a full-timer. Am hoping most fervently indeed that today wasn't some kind of signpost :(
