Revisiting Private Schulz - had forgotten absolutely everything about it except Michael Elphick. First ep enjoyable in any case; hubby seconds (and he hasn't seen it before). Now, is it me, or is "Hitler" wearing weird contact lenses...?

Ad hoc dinner, noted here purely for my own amusement/to pad out recipe meme/because I want to play with the idea a bit more. Saute thin strips leek/crushed garlic/ginger/baby corn/strips kipler spud and sweet potato in marge; add vinegar & water (no wine in house - dry white was the idea); add two chopped green death chili; heat up; add sea salt, finely chopped chicken, lower to medium heat & add nam pla, sugar, steam covered about 10 mins, add a handful or so cashew, 5 mins slightly higher heat. Served w. rice and sourdough croutons. Ended up with a weirdly coloured (palette of various orange-to-yellow), savoury-and-not-quite-sour sort of mix thing, a variety nice textures and tastes. Will experiment further.

Direct-to-computer obs on kids going well; I'm doing a LOT less work on the portfolios, which feels like a bit of a cop-out, but it's harder to get around to :) isn't it always the way?

New Schedule - working nicknames only so far for the new kids. I'll come up with better ones eventually. It's hard - three of my all-time favourites arriving all at once... crikey, and there's another four or five Tods turning 3 in the next couple of months. This could get interesting...

WEEK ONE WEEK TWO
MON: And Then We Shooted Him The Wicker Tot
And And And Me Forget Carmen Miranda

TUE: Lloyd George Eats Paper
SRS RUGRT Sit Down, Mr Bond

WED: He Hit Me First I Maked A Cyclotron
The Fluffy Pink Rat Redbacks Wouldn't Melt

THUR: Er Bijna Echt My Cyclotron's Pink
Dances With Bugs Heydrich

Each entry ends up being much more detailed and analytical; instead of having two or three pages per child per day noting behaviour to illustrate development without verbally spelling it out (my preferred method is to let the story tell itself, as far as possible, without imposing arbitrary "milestones") it is, well, spelling it out. Which is kind of a good thing because although it all *seems* logical and obvious, sometimes it ain't. Makes me pay attention to the often-overlookables (like, say, that And Then We Shooted Him *asked* Lloyd George whether he could drop custard on his head before actually doing it...)

Spent a very satisfying two hours on ATWSH's paperwork today - I've got four whole pages which **truthfully** highlight the observable positives in his interactions with others :) Very pleased, if only because the poor little bugger gets written off as intractable so bloody often. He isn't, honest (just very, very good at finessing the system :)

The Other Other Favourite Toddler (yeah, another one) is transitioning to PSR at the moment - he's been up and down about it, but we had a full day with him today; helped that his two best ex-tod friends are in here on Tuesdays. Tomorrow could be a bit harder, but we'll see. One day is a start :) *buggers off to think up better nicknames*
