Room Assistant from Hell - aka resident woo artist

"We need words with the king."

"Oh, it starts with words, ends with my day shot to hell..."

Yay, new Kings and True Blood. Just what I need after a 12-hour shift (normal day plus after-hours staff meeting in cold room; my arthritic toesies are very pissed off).

Was supposed to be a short meeting because RAH wasn't there to pad it out with her Oh I Knows etc; ended up being a long one anyway because gee whiz guess what we had to talk about...

Oh well, if nothing else I got the boss to agree that RAH is to receive formal warning not to peform "reiki" on staff or children on the premises. (Yup, she's been "treating" children, apparently - no parental consent, or even discussion!... christ knows what sort of nonsense she's been telling the kids) For the uninitiated: "reiki" in this context involves the laying on of hands on someone - i.e. RAH sitting on her bum with her eyes closed IN A VERY BUSY CLASSROOM, not supervising children, not interacting with children, not helping injured or needful children, not directing children, not doing her job in any way shape or form at all really. Oh, and spraying children and staff with aromatherapy stuff - without their consent - "to help them".

Not on. Okay, it may sound harmless, but (a) children with allergies, much! (b) unapproved and possibly toxic chemical products kept (and often left in the open) within reach of children, much! and (c) how dumb do you have to be to think you can just impose/experiment with/practise/force "alternative therapies" including all the toss verbiage/outright lies about "healing" and "health" it involves on our VERY VERY UNDERAGE AND VULNERABLE charges?

Christ.

Two different staff members have said she's "offered" to "treat" them, they've said bugger off please, and she's just gone right ahead and laid hands, on the spot. Followed them round, putting on (physical) pressure, if they moved away... four were sprayed without warning or consent (again, "treatment")... four have seen her "working" on children (and told her it wasn't on, btw)...

On the bright side: if she's warned and carries on, I think we can argue she's breaching our Maltreatment Of Children and Storage of Dangerous Substances Policies... which is laughable considering Simply Not Doing What She's Paid For has never been enough to have her sacked...

narked, work
