...watching Grange Hill series 10. Danny Kendall's tumour, the hapless Mr Scott, and Evil Imelda whose fuck'em'all attitude is strangely appealing even though it's hard enough in RL dealing with a four-year-old who behaves like that. Keep wanting to slap Scott for his utter impotence, I must say.
Utterly unslashy, even once Gonch gets back. Oh well. And no, Vince/Hollo doesn't fly :(
Apropos of nothing: I *need* to write something. I miss writing. But nothing *inspires* the same way The Bill and Doctor Who used to, or s1 Tripods. Nothing I've seen since, no matter how slashy, seems to have got into the bone in quite the same way.
Still. Taking laptop to parents'-in-law; and on the At Least Try, Goddamnit list for 2009:
The Fixer - still working on that Calum/John vid dammit
Grange Hill series 1-5
Arthur of the Britons - there are no words :)
Rome although i have teh iggerant historically. Bigtime.
The Fourth Arm - at least I've something *started* there. Unfortunately Choucas keeps wanting to traipse fetchingly through Malay jungles, which isn't remotely canon, or likely for that matter given that TFA takes place in Britain/occupied France during three months in 1944. This is clearly incredibly stupid and all the third-rate speculation one can do about what sort of spook work he [Hibou, Grive] and Major Gally might have got up to after the war isn't remotely helpful :(
On the other hand there must, somewhere, be a universe containing a *good* reason to have him machete his way through a snake-infested highland ;p I will hit anyone who invokes Biggles
Breaking Bad - come ON. Someone's gotta do it eventually.
Tripods s2 - actually, I'm toying with having to admit defeat here. A set of initially robust relationships is overly complicated by the fact that Fritz is the only character who DOES anything worthwhile. Will is... even more passive and annoying than in s1, if that's possible, which is herofail class 1 and (worse) makes the idea of any kind of connection with Fritz (the only possible contender in canon) just that little bit too implausible - with or without any BMB-based idea of his maturation. Henry's largely absent, of course, and absolutely nothing about OstensiblyCapped!Beanpole out in the big wide world makes sense without a generous helping of fixit. Then again s2 isn't exactly long on internal logic. Fucking Penfold :(
The Paradise Club - *cough*
