Intramuscular Narcotics
So this weekend was interesting. I went to the ER on Friday with a terrible migraine and I took myself there but because of (I guess) a change in policy I wasn't allowed to receive any meds unless I had a ride sitting there with me. Well my mom wasn't picking up and my dad was at the lake so I couldn't get any reception, luckily Leo came to my rescue and offered to pick me up. Once I had confirmed that someone was coming to get me then I was given two Vicodin. I waited a half an hour til Leo came but it wasn't working for the pain I was feeling loopy but I was still in a lot of pain. After arguing with my doctor about the treatment I finally just let them give me a shot of Demerol. Let me just say that stuff is amazing. I sat there for about 20 min and then I couldn't stop laughing. They let me go shortly after that and Leo took me to her house to sleep it off because I couldn't do anything else. I remember hallucinating a bit and freaking out about shadows. When I got to the house I slept for 14 hours then woke up and Leo took me to my car. After that I went to a BBQ but I was still really high from the narcotics at the hospital. I told my friend that was a nurse there about what they had given me and she said she was surprised they gave me both because those two together can often lead to respiratory failure. So now I am on vicodin although I still have tremors and I can't concentrate very long so far writing this post has taken 30 min of going back and forth between different things. Oi Vey :)
