I keep telling myself I need to write in my journal more often. Maybe I'll learn. Anyway, just a quick update. Things are going very well. As always work is busy. Besides the usual long days (9-6), I've been doing some late nights and a few hours here and there on the weekend to keep up with the tasks on the table. The hours can be a bit wearing, especially on
sweetmegumi when I have to work on the weekends and it's a bit annoying when work cuts into my activities(like COT). The funny thing is though, where before I felt like I had an obligation to get work done at weird hours, now I do it out of dedication to the team and pride in my work. It's a good felling.
Anyway, on the life outside of work front,
sweetmegumi and I had one hell of a weekend. Saturday consisted of a long, wet drive out to Stockton for the Asparagus Festival. We almost didn't end up going because the weather was so funky but we went anyway and I'm glad we did. In typical California festival form, there were booths, arts and crafts, a carnival, live music and all that jazz. What we were there for were the green spears of goodness though. In total we ate: 2 Deep Fried Asparagus, 1 Tri-Tip Asparagus Sandwich, 1 Foot Long Sausage, 1 Funnel Cake and an Asparagus Margarita (which was actually really good). Got to find out what an asparagus plant really is too. And here I though they were just young brussle sprouts or something. Anyway, Sunday was Cherry Blossom festival at Japantown. And of course, more eating. Walked around, spent some time looking at the bonsai and Japanese weaponry displays. The we ran into a bunch of friends at the anime costume contest. Overall fun times.
