YOU YOU YOU... meow? = CHAIN review
TODAY IS OFFICIAL RELEASE OF KAT-TUN's NEW ALBUM "CHAIN"!
That's why I can officially post my biased review of album... Don't count on objectivism or sublime speeches here.
I shall focus only on music, because most of lyrics are still not available and I doubt that my laziness will allow me to update this post later. ;-)
My own copies (both RE & LE) were shipped yesterday, so in 10-12 days I should receive them. Free shipping from YesAsia always takes so long. I got used to it.
01 LOCK ON
We heard the leak few weeks (?) ago, so I thought that on album this will be one of my less favourite songs. How wrong I was! Hearing HQ version, enjoying the voice of boys, screaming silently when thinking about PV (which back then was still not out)... Those emotions were suprising, but also amusing... and gladly welcomed.
Just this beginning of song, which heralds that something awesome is ahead... I'm always shivering from excitement, waiting for Kazuya's voice to start first verse, preceded by loud "Hey!". Suddenly Koki's voice butts in and big grin appears on my face. Seriously, I love Lord's voice. Of course next is Robamaru (called by international fans: MaruDa) moment, when General's voice (must say that he perfectly fits this vocal's up&downs in this song) changes to Uepi's gentle verse. I think that their voice abilities really suit each other. Though.. I think the same thing about every pair in KAT-TUN, so nevermind. And suddenly Junno appears with his overflow of energy! I'm not the only one who hears this, right? He IS full of energy in this song.. or maybe always, in every situation. And chorus.. gosh... How I love the chorus. Can't believe how simple "I gotta LOCK ON girl" can make your heart flutter so easily. ;)
LOCK ON is one of those songs which can without any problems get stuck in your head and doesn't want to leave. Fortunately I completely don't mind. Quite opposite: sometimes I'm starting this process by myself and I'm displeased when someone tries to make me go back to reality.
02 ONE DAY
YOU YOU YOU ♥
Sorry, I just had to start with this. It's stronger than me... Every, freaking, time I turn on this song.
Ok, so the first time I heard it was this short preview on one of Johnny's sites. Since then 'YOU YOU YOU' was attached to my heart... And the moment when I heard for the first time the full version. I guess I fainted back then. ;)
And my twitter suffers from 'YOU YOU YOU' syndrome all the time.
This tune is so addicting, don't you agree? It gives me a lot of energy. ONE DAY = strength to survive whole day.
And besides 'YOU YOU YOU', which even here appeares definitely too often, I love those few verses before last chorus sung in order by every member: Maru -> Junno -> Koki -> Uepi -> Kame.
I just don't think I have to write about every member in this song... It's obvious how awesome they're there. Hugging them and thanking over and over for giving me an opportunity to listen to this song is just not enough.
Right now I'm on "ONE DAY on loop" spazz and I'm really enjoying this.

03 BIRTH
Forever Bemu's (妖怪人間べム) theme song! Loved it back then, love it now and will love it forever. Even though so many folks were against this song and I was sitting there with face "are you deaf? It's gorgeous!" don't try to imagine this face... really, don't. It's pointless.
I really like this rock-ish feeling around BIRTH. Especially since the last similiar to this KAT-TUN's song was pretty long time ago. Diversity in their music is the first thing I noticed and loved about them as a group (Because the first 'thing' I loved individually was Kame as a person). That's why even if I loved KAT-TUN's new songs, I kinda hoped that one day I'll hear old tune.
I was a little bit sulking that whole song is mostly based on Kame's voice, because I'm this type of fan, who puts whole KAT-TUN on the same level, but I guess that it's all because of drama.
Oh okay... MAYBE I really love Kame's 'solo' in this song. Just maybe. Won't admit it, because it's not completely truth. I DO enjoy his voice (and flail definitely too much), but on the other side I don't want to turn KAT-TUN into 'one main member and 4 side ones'. :P
But I'm over with sulking already and can fully enjoy the music and voices which I so do love. :)

04 ULTIMATE WHEELS
One of my favorite KAT-TUN songs... No, wait. I could say that about their every song. Forget it. ULTIMATE WHEELS is really a masterpiece though. From music, through lyrics, to way of singing.
Type of song, which never gets boring. You can listen to it when you're sleepy or fully awake. It doesn't matter, because it still makes you smile. To not mention the lyrics, which are just purely awesome. Even if I'm depressed it helps me go back to my usual mood. And the power with which KAT-TUN sings it... Like they really want us to understand their feelings. Can't help, but always notice this kind of things in their songs. Especially this moment before chorus, when all members seems to be suffering from all those tries to send us what they feel. Oh, and Tacchan's "oshiete kureta ne" is just so precious!
By the way... ULTIMATE WHEELS is one of songs from which my mom knows lyrics. Why? I was blasting it too often, when I was still in my hometown. She doesn't mind though. Quite opposite: one day she asked me to turn it on, because "I feel like listening to it once again". You don't even know how proud I was back then, but on the other side...
ULTIMATE WHEELS deserves attention from every person on the whole world.
05 FINALEI thought that after "LOVE MUSIC", which I just simply adore, Junno's not able to create better song. Again: How wrong I was! This song is just ASDFGHJKKMKNFIRLSHGSLRN *forever keyboard smash* and I think that it's probably the best way to describe it. I can say that FINALE is awesome, purely gorgeous, owns the world, leads me to the world of happiness and this all is truth, but I still think that "ASDFGHJKKMKNFIRLSHGSLRN" is better. Though, some are just writing "SEXY LADEEEEEEH" and I also think that it's enough. Every person, who heard this song, will understand.
Junno, you deserve one (or thousand), big hug from me for creating this solo. Your voice is so manly in it and this makes me spazz so much! Even this 'rapping' sounds great.
Junno, may I hug you.. Please? Just once.. or few... or multiple times. *^* Your puns will never be the same anymore. Now I see you as freaking sexy, mature guy. If it's what you wanted to achieve: Congratulations. And I thought I never can be perverted when thinking about you... Not anymore. Now all members of KAT-TUN are reason of me blushing all the time. orz
FINALE just destroyed this world of music and made it better. I'm serious.
06 STEP BY STEP
After hearing this song for the first time in Shounen Club I had only one reaction "I NEED THIS IN HIGH QUALITY. NOW". And then rumor about this song being on album appeared and I started to wait for it w/ huge excitement.
Can I say that it's my favourite solo from Yucchi? Yes? So it is. ;-) It's so wonderful to hear our boy in such a different kind of music. Hyper, a little bit techno-like tune - it's definitely not normal for General. Yet I can't help but scream "Why didn't you do this earlier?! WHY?!". But on the other side I wouldn't be able to hear such songs like FILM or White World and I don't want that. So maybe it's okay he decided to go into something different just now. Ohhh... nevermind! I'm just glad that STEP BY STEP is Maru's solo, ok?
ehh.. And when I thought that this guy can't suprise me anymore... Lesson for future, I guess.
Though, part of me is a little bit dissapointed that there's no beatboxing... and then I hear "kokoro made STEP BY STEP" and I don't mind. The hell with beatbox, when such gentle and sweet voice attacks you. This guy's vocal ability is so precious. <3

07 RUN FOR YOUHow to start, without flailing too much... Nice song, nice tune, nice voice. Just joking :D
RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN FOR YOU, just as whole this single, became part of me, which involves a lot of memories. Wonderful memories. Everytime I hear this song, I'm starting to remember things once again and smile like an idiot. RUN FOR YOU was also my first single from which I bought immediately all 3 editions, which is something normal for me now, and I still think it was one of my best decisions. Just after decision of making my main goal to buy all editions of all KAT-TUN's singles. :)
Favorite part of RUN FOR YOU? Kame's powerful "tsukerudarooooooouuuu". In that moment my whole self decides to leave body and starts flailing on completely different level. You should try this... Pretty awesome feeling. XD
And of course PRIDE->VOICE->TENSION->Junno without english word, lol->CHALLENGE. I guess that member-after-member hits my fancy every time, in every song. ;)
But I also must say that whole tune is pretty well thought up. With boys voices (which I'm mentioning too often probably) it creates perfect song for any mood.
I also so love those all up&downs in vocal all the time. Shows how talented are KAT-TUN's members. ;3
08 あの日のように
Slow song, perfect to calm down and focus on voices... Music at the beginning doesn't seem to be anything unusual here and I think it was mostly created for enjoying the vocals purpose. And I think it was great idea! With chorus we can hear perfect connection between voices and tune. "I just wanna feel it, I will never ever forget" (no mistakes, right?) describes my feelings about this song. I want to understand (feel) their feelings through this song and never forget about it. And I know I won't.
Precious songs never leave my head, fortunately. :-)
I don't want to focus on any part here. This song should be treated as a whole. Gentle whole, which is supposed to lead you to world where KAT-TUN sings only for you. No one else counts here. There's only you and 5 handsome, talented men. Try to not faint. It's hard but possible. It'd be good to close your eyes to not get distracted. And now focus on voices. Done?

It's hard to write something about a song from a man you love the most. Being biased while writing this is just normal, but I'll try to not flail too much...
I failed. I know this already.
I'm crying everytime I hear this song. No... First I smile, then close my eyes and feel like tears are flowing down the cheeks. I'm still smiling. But there's something sad in this smile. Maybe because my feelings are trying to get as close as possible to this voice and keep it in me forever. Or maybe because I know that getting to fully know Kame is just impossible for me - a mere fan. Yet, his voice brings warm emotions. Gives me strength to not give up.
Kame said in some interview that Zutto is this kind of song, which he would listen to while being alone. I think he's right. Listening to it when being with people doesn't seem to be a good idea. I want to fully enjoy this song and have some private time, instead of explaining to people why my face is suddenly wet.
Even now, while listening to this song, my heart beats so fast. Like it wants to be in different place, near someone else.
Also after knowing Kame and his solos for so long, I still can't believe how amazing is his vocal ability. How he can do everything with my heart without any effort. He just needs to sing. Zutto is another prove of this.
It's painful, yet pleasant. Don't search for logic here.

10 SMILE FOR YOU
The best song to get back into hyper mood after a bit depressing (at least for me) Zutto. I just cannot not let myself go with the flow of this joyful song. And seriously.. it's not possible to sing "SMILE FOR YOUUU" without smiling like an idiot.
And if you dare to be still sad, whole KAT-TUN screams "HURRY UP! HURRY UP! HURRY UP!". With this it's impossible to not surrender and let your body move freely to the tune. ;-)
First time I heard it, was, just as ONE DAY, in preview on some Johnny's site, but I was so overwhelmed by "YOU YOU YOU" that even though I enjoyed cheerful "SMILE FOR YOU" I didn't focus at it longer. Now I regret this. This song is just so great that I can't even... *^*
But seriously.. I can't stop dancing when listening to this song. That's why I avoid it in public places. People too often take me as a madwoman.. Let's not give them another reason to think like that. :P
Small advice: Depressed? Listen to SMILE FOR YOU. Problem disappeared. If not... Listen once again.

It's funny how KAT-TUN has a lot of slower songs on this album and I so love them. Normally I'm the person who likes faster ones, but in KAT-TUN case... All ballads and other slower songs are gladly welcomed and treated equally with others. Especially the last verse of chorus with "FORGET-ME-NOT" & "SHOW ME YOUR SMILE AGAIN". It's just so lovely...
And at the beginning Tacchan's "oh oh oh ohh"... His voice fitted so perfectly into this tune. To be honest, I think that General and Uepi sounds the best in this kind of songs. Gentle voice suits gentle songs.
But at the same time Junno received the right parts in this song... He stands out, but in a pleasant way.
And and.. "I'M WAITING FOR YOU" verse.. *-* Ok.. I'm slowly starting to type whole song here, better stop and accept the fact it's another one that hit my fancy.
I CANNOT STOP LOVING YOU <- Kame, say this to me and I'll be yours forever. Wait.. I already am.
Hopeless fan is hopeless.
12 ~again
In my opinion Tacchan is just not able to create bad song. It's completely impossible. I freaking adore every his solo and I'm afraid that ~again took first place on my list. The way he sings, how we can hear that he puts so much energy in every word... It's so adorable. And his voice... Tacchan's voice... Oh, why is it so beautiful?
I like the fact that the only english words in whole song are simple "MISS YOU". It shows so much...
And I'm afraid that ~again's translation is the one for I'm waiting the most. It sounds heartbreaking for now, but I'm apparently masochist, because I so want to read it. I just feel that without understanding lyrics I cannot fully get what he wants to pass through this song. And even if I should think like this in every CHAIN's song, only Tacchan's one puts on me this urge.
Every up&down in vocal makes me shiver... from pleasure. However it sounds... ;)
So, ~again.. You just topped my private chart of Uepi's best solos.

When I heard this song it took some time before I picked my jaw from the floor. It's something completely different from usual (and unusual) KAT-TUN's songs. And I loved it so much it hurt. Everytime when I'm supposed to recommend to someone one of KAT-TUN songs, I'm starting with this one. It prolly shows how much I love it. :)

I love every part about this song. Lyrics, music, voice, tune, pv, cover of single, producers, writers... I went too far. Oops...

Lolling all the time? Not in my case. I'm getting into pervy mood and spam twitter with weird things. Fortunately I have buddies who are the same as me and we can flail together, without caring about opinion of others.
This song should stay on loop since midnight to affect me in the right way.
I'm so waiting for CHAIN DVD or at least fancam to see this performance. After hearing and seeing how he looked and what he did.. *^* And let's not forget about our wild imagination, where at Tokyo Dome Kame's is cat in this performance. ;3

I feel like listening to this song everytime I want to slowly prepare to go to bed. But on the other side I want to enjoy voices of KAT-TUN just a little bit longer and that's how it goes over and over.
Hodoukyou is able to get rid of my stress pretty quickly and calm me down after "meow meow" session with Koki. Successful song is successful.
Especially the begininng (I'm quite obsessed about them, won't you agree? :D) when they immediately start singing with soft voices. My heart is melting and eyes are closing by themselves. Such a heartwarming song.
It's weird, but I always listen if in song there're english words. With pleasure I discovered that apparently in this one there's none. Don't get me wrong.. I adore KAT-TUN's english and sometimes their failures.. But I am also really glad when they stick strictly to their own language.
And apparently it's Kame's favorite song. I can't say the same thing, because I adore all songs, but it's nice to know that Kame is fond of this kind of music. <3

I still can't understand why so many folks don't like this song. I just can't. It's so precious and lovely.
It gives me hope and strength.. Idk for what purpose, but that's how I feel everytime I listen to this song. That's why I can't understand why single didn't sell so well.. Though, I'm partly at fault here because I bought only 2 copies. Back then I couldn't afford the last one and even now didn't manage to get it into my collection. But I have it prepared in next YesAsia's order, which I'll make in April.
Need to survive for now.
But still... It deserved a lot better results and it got 'only' GOLD status, right? Ugh, that's when people started to be less supportive. *sobs*
I just hope that while listening to it on CHAIN, people will start to appreciate WHITE more. I really, reallly hope. It so deserves it.

This song. Pure win.
I don't know what I love the most.. It's one of rare times when I'm not sure if chorus is my favourite part of song. It's really rare... And here I have so many gorgeous parts that I just can't decide.
Title reminded me at first about RESCUE, but it appeared to be completely different song and I don't know which one of them I like more. Seriously. Not joking.
It's so forceful and aggressive... Shows that KAT-TUN can fit into every kind of music. That's my boys! "LIKE A SOLDIER" <3
When I hear this song I can't help but imagine boys in really manly clothes, but not soldier ones... Idk how to describe it .__. My fantasies are not complete yet, I guess.
"LIGHT MY FIRE" is just.. *long sigh* My heart is getting too weak because of this album and SOLDIER as (in theory) last song is the way to completely get rid off me on this world. But I'm strong enough to start listening to this album once again, from the beginning and at the end I have to bear again with this feeling of sucking life from me.
18 CHAIN OF LOVE (?)

Hidden song? Perfectly hidden into SOLDIER, but it's impossible to not notice it. I was scared that there's no strictly CHAIN-related song and here we have one as a suprise gift from our boys. They know how to tickle our fancies. ;3
Hyper song as the end of album is a perfect idea. Let's dance together till the last second!
And chorus is genius. Just genius... Humming CHAIN OF LOVE might become my habit. Please, please!
But my inner-self (the one addicted to internet) sulks that my lastfm will never see "CHAIN OF LOVE" there... It'll be forever long SOLDIER. :< Though, I'm thinking about cutting it into half. And that's when my KAT-TUN addicted self is starting to defend boys idea for this album. One day I'll end with schizophrenia. I tell ya, but...:

RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN FOR YOU, just as whole this single, became part of me, which involves a lot of memories. Wonderful memories. Everytime I hear this song, I'm starting to remember things once again and smile like an idiot. RUN FOR YOU was also my first single from which I bought immediately all 3 editions, which is something normal for me now, and I still think it was one of my best decisions. Just after decision of making my main goal to buy all editions of all KAT-TUN's singles. :)
Favorite part of RUN FOR YOU? Kame's powerful "tsukerudarooooooouuuu". In that moment my whole self decides to leave body and starts flailing on completely different level. You should try this... Pretty awesome feeling. XD
And of course PRIDE->VOICE->TENSION->Junno without english word, lol->CHALLENGE. I guess that member-after-member hits my fancy every time, in every song. ;)
But I also must say that whole tune is pretty well thought up. With boys voices (which I'm mentioning too often probably) it creates perfect song for any mood.
I also so love those all up&downs in vocal all the time. Shows how talented are KAT-TUN's members. ;3

Slow song, perfect to calm down and focus on voices... Music at the beginning doesn't seem to be anything unusual here and I think it was mostly created for enjoying the vocals purpose. And I think it was great idea! With chorus we can hear perfect connection between voices and tune. "I just wanna feel it, I will never ever forget" (no mistakes, right?) describes my feelings about this song. I want to understand (feel) their feelings through this song and never forget about it. And I know I won't.
Precious songs never leave my head, fortunately. :-)
I don't want to focus on any part here. This song should be treated as a whole. Gentle whole, which is supposed to lead you to world where KAT-TUN sings only for you. No one else counts here. There's only you and 5 handsome, talented men. Try to not faint. It's hard but possible. It'd be good to close your eyes to not get distracted. And now focus on voices. Done?

It's hard to write something about a song from a man you love the most. Being biased while writing this is just normal, but I'll try to not flail too much...
I failed. I know this already.
I'm crying everytime I hear this song. No... First I smile, then close my eyes and feel like tears are flowing down the cheeks. I'm still smiling. But there's something sad in this smile. Maybe because my feelings are trying to get as close as possible to this voice and keep it in me forever. Or maybe because I know that getting to fully know Kame is just impossible for me - a mere fan. Yet, his voice brings warm emotions. Gives me strength to not give up.
Kame said in some interview that Zutto is this kind of song, which he would listen to while being alone. I think he's right. Listening to it when being with people doesn't seem to be a good idea. I want to fully enjoy this song and have some private time, instead of explaining to people why my face is suddenly wet.
Even now, while listening to this song, my heart beats so fast. Like it wants to be in different place, near someone else.
Also after knowing Kame and his solos for so long, I still can't believe how amazing is his vocal ability. How he can do everything with my heart without any effort. He just needs to sing. Zutto is another prove of this.
It's painful, yet pleasant. Don't search for logic here.

10 SMILE FOR YOU
The best song to get back into hyper mood after a bit depressing (at least for me) Zutto. I just cannot not let myself go with the flow of this joyful song. And seriously.. it's not possible to sing "SMILE FOR YOUUU" without smiling like an idiot.
And if you dare to be still sad, whole KAT-TUN screams "HURRY UP! HURRY UP! HURRY UP!". With this it's impossible to not surrender and let your body move freely to the tune. ;-)
First time I heard it, was, just as ONE DAY, in preview on some Johnny's site, but I was so overwhelmed by "YOU YOU YOU" that even though I enjoyed cheerful "SMILE FOR YOU" I didn't focus at it longer. Now I regret this. This song is just so great that I can't even... *^*
But seriously.. I can't stop dancing when listening to this song. That's why I avoid it in public places. People too often take me as a madwoman.. Let's not give them another reason to think like that. :P
Small advice: Depressed? Listen to SMILE FOR YOU. Problem disappeared. If not... Listen once again.

It's funny how KAT-TUN has a lot of slower songs on this album and I so love them. Normally I'm the person who likes faster ones, but in KAT-TUN case... All ballads and other slower songs are gladly welcomed and treated equally with others. Especially the last verse of chorus with "FORGET-ME-NOT" & "SHOW ME YOUR SMILE AGAIN". It's just so lovely...
And at the beginning Tacchan's "oh oh oh ohh"... His voice fitted so perfectly into this tune. To be honest, I think that General and Uepi sounds the best in this kind of songs. Gentle voice suits gentle songs.
But at the same time Junno received the right parts in this song... He stands out, but in a pleasant way.
And and.. "I'M WAITING FOR YOU" verse.. *-* Ok.. I'm slowly starting to type whole song here, better stop and accept the fact it's another one that hit my fancy.
I CANNOT STOP LOVING YOU <- Kame, say this to me and I'll be yours forever. Wait.. I already am.

In my opinion Tacchan is just not able to create bad song. It's completely impossible. I freaking adore every his solo and I'm afraid that ~again took first place on my list. The way he sings, how we can hear that he puts so much energy in every word... It's so adorable. And his voice... Tacchan's voice... Oh, why is it so beautiful?
I like the fact that the only english words in whole song are simple "MISS YOU". It shows so much...
And I'm afraid that ~again's translation is the one for I'm waiting the most. It sounds heartbreaking for now, but I'm apparently masochist, because I so want to read it. I just feel that without understanding lyrics I cannot fully get what he wants to pass through this song. And even if I should think like this in every CHAIN's song, only Tacchan's one puts on me this urge.
Every up&down in vocal makes me shiver... from pleasure. However it sounds... ;)

When I heard this song it took some time before I picked my jaw from the floor. It's something completely different from usual (and unusual) KAT-TUN's songs. And I loved it so much it hurt. Everytime when I'm supposed to recommend to someone one of KAT-TUN songs, I'm starting with this one. It prolly shows how much I love it. :)

I feel like listening to this song everytime I want to slowly prepare to go to bed. But on the other side I want to enjoy voices of KAT-TUN just a little bit longer and that's how it goes over and over.
Hodoukyou is able to get rid of my stress pretty quickly and calm me down after "meow meow" session with Koki. Successful song is successful.
Especially the begininng (I'm quite obsessed about them, won't you agree? :D) when they immediately start singing with soft voices. My heart is melting and eyes are closing by themselves. Such a heartwarming song.
It's weird, but I always listen if in song there're english words. With pleasure I discovered that apparently in this one there's none. Don't get me wrong.. I adore KAT-TUN's english and sometimes their failures.. But I am also really glad when they stick strictly to their own language.
And apparently it's Kame's favorite song. I can't say the same thing, because I adore all songs, but it's nice to know that Kame is fond of this kind of music. <3

I still can't understand why so many folks don't like this song. I just can't. It's so precious and lovely.
It gives me hope and strength.. Idk for what purpose, but that's how I feel everytime I listen to this song. That's why I can't understand why single didn't sell so well.. Though, I'm partly at fault here because I bought only 2 copies. Back then I couldn't afford the last one and even now didn't manage to get it into my collection. But I have it prepared in next YesAsia's order, which I'll make in April.
Need to survive for now.
But still... It deserved a lot better results and it got 'only' GOLD status, right? Ugh, that's when people started to be less supportive. *sobs*
I just hope that while listening to it on CHAIN, people will start to appreciate WHITE more. I really, reallly hope. It so deserves it.

This song. Pure win.
I don't know what I love the most.. It's one of rare times when I'm not sure if chorus is my favourite part of song. It's really rare... And here I have so many gorgeous parts that I just can't decide.
Title reminded me at first about RESCUE, but it appeared to be completely different song and I don't know which one of them I like more. Seriously. Not joking.
It's so forceful and aggressive... Shows that KAT-TUN can fit into every kind of music. That's my boys! "LIKE A SOLDIER" <3
When I hear this song I can't help but imagine boys in really manly clothes, but not soldier ones... Idk how to describe it .__. My fantasies are not complete yet, I guess.
"LIGHT MY FIRE" is just.. *long sigh* My heart is getting too weak because of this album and SOLDIER as (in theory) last song is the way to completely get rid off me on this world. But I'm strong enough to start listening to this album once again, from the beginning and at the end I have to bear again with this feeling of sucking life from me.

And chorus is genius. Just genius... Humming CHAIN OF LOVE might become my habit. Please, please!
