Sweep. The. Leg. Johnny...

He wanted to write. He loved to write.

Hrm, let us qualify that. He loved to write well. Better yet, he had almost figured out a way to tell if what he had written was any good (to cut down on the needless crap that others would have to push through, he was a helper at heart).

The problem was... that he was a critical writer. No, no, no. He wasn't overly obsessed with spelling, grammar, punctuation, or with the factual information on the subjects he wrote about. None of that useful crap. It was simply that he observed with a critical eye, and he wrote with a wicked mind.

He could never write in that praising, pleasing tone. His hand (nor tongue) could move in such a way. His was a cutting, sharp voice that seldom let up. Normally this wasn't a problem. There were plenty that wrote in such a way, some were even successful.

The problem was that in everything he observed, there were those he cared about. And they wanted him to write. You can see where this is leading, right?

Should have taken that fiction class in college.

Sweep the leg, Johnny...sweep the leg
