So sorry I missed Saturday, everyone! Extenuating circumstances...won't happen again any time soon, I promise. That being said:
I love sugar cookies. They have to be my absolute favorite. It's their simplicity, really...just the sweet, smooth flavor of sugar, butter, and vanilla. Too good!
But I've never had sugar cookies like the ones I'm about to share with you. These cookies were gone within three days! Found the recipe somewhere on the internet, by the way! Warning: these cookies are for adults only.
Bailey's Irish Cream Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
4 C flour
1 C butter
1 1/2 C sugar
1/2 C Bailey's Irish Cream (I used original, but next time it'll be mint chocolate!)
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
Directions:
1. Cream together butter and sugar. Add vanilla and eggs. Mix well.
2. Add flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until a firm dough forms (you may have to mix with your hands!)
3. If you're going to use cookie cutters, refrigerate for at least two hours. If not, make balls with rounded teaspoons of dough (or tablespoons for big ones) and flatten with the palm of your hand.
3. Bake for 6-8 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool completely before frosting.
For Halloween, I dyed my batter orange and I'm going to dye the frosting different colors, too!
