Dear Nitpickers,
Purple is a colour. Purple and violet are the same thing. The distinction between purple as "a mix of red and blue light" and violet as "a distinct spectral colour" is bullshit. This is completely obvious if you stop masturbating about wavelengths for a minute and look at something that is purple and/or violet in colour. SAME THING. Stop quibbling semantics. People like you are the reason we've all had to learn a new mnemonic for the planets. You suck.
