Cdrama: The Princess Royal
The Princess Royal, ep.1-10, Year 2024: a tale of two people who should never have married each other, spent 20 years in a bad marriage while loving someone else, and ended up killing each other. Sounds fun right? XD
So after a bad marriage by imperial decree, the FL who is the titular elder princess, gets reborn 20 years in the past when she was 18 and right before her marriage to ML. She soon discovers the ML too has been reborn and both have memories of their past lives.
This had the potential to be a good drama with complex themes but instead it's been dumbed down. The focus is on the two leads falling in love after another arranged marriage between them. The politics are interesting from the flashbacks but it's been overly simplified with every character and villain explaining all their actions and secrets IN DETAIL. It feels like my intelligence is being insulted here, especially after finishing The Double. I don't think I'll continue it. I can already tell the Second Male Lead has more depth than the ML.
