It is interesting to hear a person's opinion of themselves and their work versus what other people think of them or the actual reality of it.
The majority of people have a biased perception of themselves and their efforts and usually think they deserve more accolades than they really merit. There is a certain painful irony in being an outsider and witnessing this.
Of course, courtesy and good manners prevent me from commenting. I guess all people think they deserve the stars.
