Guess who finally decided to get off their arse and update? That's right, this girl.
Title reference. Since Royal won the heir poll, I figured this would be appropriate. And speaking of the poll, thank you so much for voting!
Previously, there was a huge two-part update in which many things happened, including birthdays, adventures in China, the departure of Peaches and Viola to boarding school, and Royal being...Royal.
We begin with the family's arrival home from China. And it looks like Carver is a bit apprehensive about the Foxglove clan's new idea of familial bonding: hot tubbing.
There's nothing quite like making out with your fiance in front of your twin sister and mother. In a hot tub.
Eventually, Tuesday and Carver wise up and take it outside. This is still one of my favorite interactions to date. :3
I was so amused by the hot tub adventures that I forgot about Royal. When I went to find him, he was at the Bistro, getting a round of drinks. Oh Royal, how naughty! Seriously, though. Underage drinking in public is just asking to get arrested by the psychic police in TS3, but he just rode his fixed-gear bike home without getting in trouble at all.
What follows is a beautiful, though admittedly rather short, montage of Royal making faces in the hot tub.
Royal: That's right, bitches. Heir of the legacy, right here.
Carver: Hey, baby, wanna be naughty and...
Carver: Make a baby?
Seems like Tuesday was more than happy to agree to that suggestion.
Carver: Wait, what did we just do?! I can't be a father!
It's kind of too late to regret those shenanigans from last night, buddy.
Elsewhere in the house, Schuyler sets herself (and the wedding dress she chose to wear while inventing) on fire.
Schuyler manages to run to the pool to douse the flames charring her buttocks.
Schuyler: Ah, much better.
Hey! It's
katu_sims's lovely Phoenix Honeynut, who I had plopped into the neighborhood eons ago. Looks like he's living it up as a stylist. And (awesome segue here) why was I at the salon, you ask? Well, after the Foxgloves arrived home from China, Kingston (
lostavenuea) and Tuesday suddenly had this dire wish to get tattoos.
Kingston: Neener neener, my name is Broseph and I tattoo people~
I don't think mocking your tattoo artist is one of your best ideas, Kingston.
Kingston: Hey, be gentle! My pain threshold isn't what it once was, you hooligan.
He got a gnome. Because I like gnomes, okay?
Tuesday is much more courteous to the tattoo artist. Good job, bb.
And because I'm a weird person that would love to have a full-back tattoo but also someone who doesn't have the guts (or money) to get one, Tuesday got a big-ass buddhist work of art, plus chest piece and some arm tattoos. Only in the sims is that much ink possible in one very short sitting.
Meanwhile, Polly is taking part in her new favorite activity: skinny dipping in the hot tub. Seriously, whenever she has a free moment, I find her chilling naked in the hot tub.
Royal still loves the sweet sound of the banjo. Play on, brother. Play on.
Looks like Kingston loves jumping on the trampoline so much that it makes him RAGE.
I decided to throw a wedding party for Tuesday and Carver at the beautiful
chapel by Lilymayrose.
Tuesday's smile seems a bit forced. I guess someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed...on their wedding day.
Tuesday: Or I spent all morning throwing up in the toilet.
Everyone's just thrilled about this wedding, aren't they? Smile, kiddos!
Heavens to Betsy, even Carver is conspiring against my plans for a ~romantic~ wedding.
Carver: Actually, I just really want to marry the love of my life right now, and I'm tired of waiting for all the guests to file in.
Florence (
simsarenotfood): Oh, my stars! How romantic is that?!
Royal: So romantic! It warms my heart to see the bliss of marriage.
Two family sims right here, my friends.
Polly: Oh, my baby is all grown up now, isn't she? I'm glad she found someone to love.
Schuyler: Uh, what's going on? I guess I should just mimic what everyone else is doing.
Carver: I love you, Tuesday, but you know that. I want to always be there to share in your triumphs, disappointments, moments of mirth and sadness, and to stay by your side, always. I know I'm a coward, but I'm trying to learn how to be strong for you.
Tuesday: Carver, I also want to share my life with you, and to be there as a support for you for the rest of our lives. And you don't have to worry about being strong...Your love is enough for me.
Awwwwww.
Royal: Would you accept these flowers? I'm sorry that they aren't as beautiful as you are; it'd be impossible to find anything as radiant.
Florence: GAH! DO NOT WANT!
Carver: Oh. How frighteningly embarrassing.
Florence: Seriously, get those things away from me! I'm allergic!
Royal: That's why you keep shooting me down? Why didn't you tell me that before? I just wanted to show you that I like you.
Florence: Oh, well if that's all, then I'd be happy to get to know you.
Man, that is one intense derp face right there. She'd fit in well with this family.
Florence: Now that I think about it, you do seem like a nice guy.
Royal: I'm glad you think so. I've liked you from afar for such a long time.
And with all the romance in the air, Schuyler decided she'd take the bags she packed earlier and move out of the house and into her own apartment. Bye, Schuyler! I hope Story Progression is kind to you.
Now back to our regularly scheduled wedding spammage. I can't say I'm good at throwing parties for my sims or in real life, so the only attendees were family members and a random old man who danced his heart out, but of whom I regrettably didn't screencap.
Okay, so the "Get Frisky" interaction is seriously so adorable. I wish it was available for all romantic couples instead of just newlyweds, but still, props to EA.
I mean, just look at that expression of bliss on Tuesday's face. There must be something divine about the tickling action happening. I don't even know.
Carver: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Tuesday: I don't know, baby. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Yeah, these two are like rabbits at the moment.
Please excuse me. I couldn't help myself. That's also what I feel like sims are saying to each other in this interaction, based on their facial expressions. Anyway, moving on from the wedding spam...
Tuesday and Carver decided to take a mini-honeymoon to France, mainly so Tues could get in a bit of adventuring.
Tuesday: Ah, just look at my lovely ring finger on which there is no ring! So romantic~
Yeah, I forgot to go in CAS and add one like I usually do. Oopsie.
Although perhaps sneaking around in the Landgrabb mansion wasn't one of Tuesday's better life decisions.
Tuesday: So adventurous! I'm still having fun! Indiana Jones's got nothing on me!
There was, of course, time for some...recreational activities.
Carver: Ah, nothing like
Pu-erh tea, incense, and the dulcet tones of Tuesday's sleep talking to make for a perfectly zen morning.
Tuesday: Carver...soooo coward...sexy...
And thus, Carver and Tuesday's little French vacation ended.
Flawless, fierce, etc.
Royal: Look at your man. Now back to me. Now back to your man. Now back to me. Sadly, he isn't me. No manly moustache surprise for you.
Kingston had a buttload of Lifetime Happiness points, so I bought the Foxgloves this super hip van with them. Perfect for Royal, y/n?
Kingston...what tomfoolery are you up to now?
Kingston: The llamas bid me to sneak up on someone.
Kingston: Mwahaha, gotcha!
Carver: D: I could've had a heart attack!
I kind of love how mischeivous Kingston has become as an elder.
Something sure made Royal cry.
Royal: Oh, woe is me! It's my birthday and I still don't know if Florence really likes me!
I don't know, she seemed pretty fond of you at Tuesday and Carver's wedding.
Royal: *sniffle* I just need to be sure of her affections. Does love always make one so insecure?
Wow, it seems like this thing with Florence has really helped Royal get in touch with his ~feelings~.
Florence: Wait, what am I doing here? I mean, Royal is nice and all, but I'm not his best friend or anything...and I'm the only person here other than his family...
Royal: See what I mean? I just want to cry thinking about this embarrassingly unrequited romance!
Okay, now that's inappropriate, Kingston. Back away form the possible spouse of your child.
To get away from that indecency, here's Bahamut, chilling in Polly's garden.
Someone sure grew up nicely. And since I could, I decided it was time for Florence to grow up, too.
Polly: Haha! Your sense of fashion is reprehensible!
Oh yeah, and Royal gained the Neurotic trait. I think I mentioned it in the heir poll, but I thought it'd be handy to mention it again.
Nothing to see here. Just Florence in her lovely Young Adult incarnation...and Polly's arm.
Royal: So, uh, happy birthday! I still hope you'll give me a chance to date you.
Florence: I think I love you.
Oh, well that was fast. Also, Tuesday and Royal are arguing in the background. :<
And so they bonded over their shared sense of humor and love of family. These two have pretty similar personalities, actually.
Florence: Oh, lordy me! My heart is all a-flutterin'! (to be read in a Southern accent)
Aw, finally! <3
Royal: So, um...I hope that kiss was okay, since I've been wanting to do that for such a long time.
I guess that newfound intimacy between Royal and Florence made her a bit...adventurous, because she suddenly went for a skinny dip. o_O Honey, I hope you realize how many windows there are in this house.
Or maybe Royal and Florence are both feeling a bit...loopy. A) Royal's hairstyle change here made me laugh like an idiot, and b) WHAT IS THAT FACE, FLORENCE.
STILL LAUGHING.
Florence: THAT WAS AWWWWWESOME.
Royal: Wanna try something even better?
This. Couple. Is. Perfect.
Okay, just a note: at some point in these screenshots, I stopped adding borders. When I post on tumblr or at forums, I try not to use borders anymore, so I just got lazy and stopped putting them on the some of this batch.
LOLWUT. As if things couldn't get any more awkward, this happened. Polly should NOT be thinking whatever she is thinking. I don't even have a gif that's appropriate for what I am feeling.
So, to get away from that insanity, I present to you this gnome, if I haven't already. I forgot his name...but he seems to be taking a bath in the sprinkler...while mummified.
Also, Schuyler seems to have hooked up with a random townie that EA generated, instead of Pericles, like I would've hoped. Oh well. :/
Then, it was time for graduation (somehow Tuesday and Schuyler never got one D: ), and Royal's get up couldn't have been more appropriately ridiculous.
Everyone piles into the pimpin' van so they can see Royal graduate.
And look who showed up! Aw, that hat is so adorable on Florence. :3
PIMP.
Instead of watching Royal graduate, Polly decided to stay outside the civic center and chat about seeds. I am not amused.
...and then, this guy mooched some simoleons off of her. What.
Royal: Oh, there's mom. Wait, why didn't she watch me get my diploma?
I am not surprised in the least. All he does in his free time is work out, freak out, and jam out. See what I did there?
Royal invited Florence over again, and she had a revelation.
Florence: Oh, golly! You're RICH!
Actually, I'm kind of surprised, too. Once Polly planted a money tree or two, the Foxgloves had a more steady source of income. Which is nice, since Kingston's LTW is to have a shitload of cash.
Awwww, my bb is getting old.
Polly: What is this witchery? When did I get such beautiful phalanges?
Polly: Ah, it feels so great to be alive and well!
♥
Then I gave Polly her ~official~ elder makeover. Her first action of choice was to play video games. Atta girl. Also, I really need to get new eye defaults. I was going for realism...but the ones I am using are just way too small.
Oh, and look whose eggo is preggo! I guess Royal and Flo got a little too frisky in the hot tub.
And so, horny sims that they are, the newly-pregnant couple takes it to the shower. Classy.
This is apparently what Florence chose to wear as her maternity clothing.
Really, though, I think she did better than Tuesday did.
Ron Weasley is judging you.
Tuesday: Fuck you. I'm hormonal.
It's great to see that pregnancy hasn't made you any nicer, Tuesday.
Tuesday: I'm so worried that I won't be a good parent...I need a drink.
Um...probably not the best course of action there, bb.
:|
Polly: I may be nearing the date when I will become a granparent three times over, but I still feel pretty badass.
Polly: Yep, that's never gonna change.
Yay, the first grandbaby of Polly and Kingston. :)
This is the Foxglove's new man-maid, Thibault. I'm putting him in here because I like his name and because he's such a happy-go-lucky guy that I've grown a bit fond of him.
Work it, Royal, work it! I imagine he works out to
this kind of music.
They were invited to a party at Schuyler's place, so a very pregnant Tuesday and Polly went for a visit.
Except Schuyler wasn't even there, so Polly and Tuesday ended up watching ESPN with Pericles.
Pericles: Shouldn't that serve have been called as a fault?
Tuesday: Ew, this feels weird! What's going on?
Tuesday: Shit! This is what gicing birth feels like?
Royal: I think something important is happening to my sister, but there's a shiny thing over there that I can't look away from...
Royal: SWEET AUNT JEMIMA I CANNOT HANDLE THIS!
Tuesday: Eh, it's not so bad anymore.
Royal: Wait, what if it's born and we have to name and what will we name it and OH GOD WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME.
Polly: C'mon, Tuesday! Just pop the thing out already! Don't keep us waiting in suspense for too long!
Carver: Oh. My wife is giving birth. What a surprise.
Carver: I wonder if I should get a doctor.
Polly and Royal: *freaking out*
Tuesday: Yeah, you probably should get on that, dear.
I was really surprised that Carver was the only one not freaking out. Kind of out of character, considering how much of a scaredy cat he usually is.
And with all that hullabaloo, Alaska Foxglove is born...and immediately aged into toddlerhood, as is normal practice in my game.
Aw, she's a cute little clone of her daddy. Alaska has the most odd personality, too - a friendly loner. Don't those two traits seem to conflict a bit?
At nearly the same time that Alaska was born, Florence gave birth to a girl Story Progression named Ulyssa, but who I renamed Lirael. Yeah, at this point, Flo and Royal weren't living together or even dating. Royal thought it was more hip that way.
But back to Alaska. Isn't she adorable? I hope she and her hypothetical future siblings grow up nicely outside the main Foxglove household.
Royal: Wait, I'm a father now? Why haven't I seen my child yet?
All in good time, Royal.
First, some oblig. spam of Alaska since she's so damn cute and sassy and CUTE.
Especially as she makes an awful mess while stuffing her face.
Alaska: Stop taking pictures of me and get me out of this wretched contraption!
Okay, okay. But look at her pointy ears! :3
I couldn't wait to see what Ulyssa Lirael turned out like, so Royal's baby momma was invited over. Apparently she hadn't changed clothes in three days...and is that a phantom is see riding a bike back there?
Royal: Aw, yay! Fatherhood is so exciting! Try not to let the little one see you're nervous...I think it can smell fear...
Aw, another cutie! And she inherited Grandpappy Kingston's hair instead of Royal's, nice. :)
She immediately went to play with the dollhouse...
But Kingston wanted to let her play on the playground.
Lirael: What is this uncomfortable thing? I thought I was going to ride a unicorn!
Babies in my game are born with a full grasp of the English language. Totally not weird. >.>
Tuesday: Honey, I think that since I'm not inheriting this house that it's time we moved out to make more room for our little family. What do you think?
Carver: Whatever makes you happiest, dear heart.
And so we've (finally) come to the end of this chapter. I have once again played fairly far into this generation, so I have about 500 photos sitting around, waiting to be edited and captioned. We'll see what happens.
But as a bonus for reading, here's a shot of what I do in CAS when I'm just messing around like an idiot:
Royal in his
Fu-Manchu moustache incarnation. Fancy, yes?
Thank you so much for reading. ♥♥♥ I hope you enjoyed it!
