Dreams and Encounters [Pseudo-private; Easier for people with whom he's talked to find this]

{OOC: Most strikethroughs are legible, but the first one can only be deciphered by natives of Auldrant.}

I'm practicing writing in alphabet used here in Atlas...It looks weird. I prefer the Fonic alphabet.

I had a dream the day I came here:
From the sky came a single ray of light that was making a small sunny patch just large enough for one person.

Asch...I know we've had this discussion before, but asking for/requiring assistance does not make you a nuisance. We help each other because it's our responsibility, just as you've told me. No one can save this world alone; that's why Martel summoned a bunch of us, not just one person.

It feels good to have a faithful talking critter by your side, doesn't it? I live with a bunch of them back home, so I know what it's like. They've done wonders for me, and I'm sure this Paneer person will do wonders for you, too.

And don't worry about the free dinners; it's no trouble to pay for them. If I ever need help on a quest, I'll be sure to come to you. How does that sound?

By the way, I've left an important note for all the guild members at the inn. You should take a look at your earliest convenience.

...Humph. Don't say that.

I don't need a "faithful talking critter" to get along in life. And you're assuming I'm going to bond with someone I've just met. It's not something I do.

That works...but I refuse to model with you.

Why not? I'm saying it because it's true.

Oh, I'm sure you'll bond with her eventually. It takes time to bond, but I'm sure it'll happen. It took me a while to bond with the Oresoren.

It'll be fine; I hope I won't have to model again myself anytime soon.

It's sappy. (It also sounds like what that dreck would say...minus that infuriating inferiority complex.)

I said I don't bond. There's no point to it.

...Just let me know once you need backup on a quest.

"Sappy?" Where you get that from? You won't think it's sappy once you realize how much stronger you become by trusting your allies. I learned this lesson all too recently myself.

Hmm...you say you don't bond, but you and I seem to have bonded pretty well. (^_^)

All right, I'll remember to contact you with a quest.

No, sappy is sappy. I might change my mind if it's worded differently.

I said I don't bond. I cooperate. Getting friendly with allies in situations like this only leads to disappointment.

Well then, why don't you word it differently? Sappy or not, you know it's true. So how would you say it then?

Are you sure you don't bond? Surely you must have felt something that night in the woods. Other than putting yourself down for losing to the behemoth, that is...

[Asch ignored the first question and moved onto the next one.]

I was unconscious most of the night. I didn't feel much at all.

Well, that's true, but still... *Sigh*

Anyway...for the training thing, who would you want for a sparring partner?

I used to train with someone who used the Albert style of swordsmanship, the style I use, but I don't know if I'll be able to find someone with those credentials. I'll have to see who else wields a sword around here.

(There's Lloyd, who uses something similar to the Sigmund style, but I haven't seen much of him. Just during the quest and once at the inn.)

Ah, practicing with another swordfighter. That makes sense. How about that Cantabile woman? You said she can hold her own, right? I thought about sparring with her myself, but I think she'd be more inclined to kill me at this point. And there's Kratos; he's skilled with a sword also.

The recent modeling quest helped me learn that Tear also uses daggers. So I might try sparring with her. (^_^)

She and I use a similar style, but I have no intention of sparring with that woman.

That so? [Intrigued Asch is intrigued.]

Oh, that's right...she looks down on everyone else. Who'd want to spar with her anyway.

And yeah, that's so. Why do you ask? [Intrigued Jay is intrigued by Asch's intrigue.]

{OOC: You look down on her too, Jay. XD}

...Humph. (That and she can't be any more fond of me than Guy is.)

No reason. [Intrigued Asch is trying to hide his intrigue. What? He doesn't care about anyone else!]

{OOC: Yes, but Jay has the uncanny ability to justify all of his actions, no matter how devious. It's just another thing that makes him so awesome. XD}

Hmm...it's a shame we can't decide who to spar with. It's amazing how we can be so picky, is it not? Perhaps we think that no one else can give us a challenge?

I actually thought about sparring with you myself...but then I kinda lost interest...

{OOC: Hence why he said he sees himself in Asch?}

It's also about the fighting style--what, because you thought I wouldn't give you a challenge?
