The name of the reality show is Solitary and it's on the Fox Reality channel. You and eight other people are put into solitary confinement in this small little pod where the only thing you get to hear is a computerized voice. Right off the bat, you lose your identity; your name is taken away and replaced with a number. You deal with sleep depravation, hunger (because the only thing you get are protein bars and as much water as you can drink), and insanity from those loooooong periods where you are locked in a room by yourself for hours on end. You must endure "challenges" and "treatments" which test how far your physical and mental limitations can be pushed before you break and quit. It is a show that a lot of people deem as legal torture because the contestants are willingly participating, but even that is a factor for one of the biggest televised psychological experiments that is this show.
Even though my reasons for being able to last a long time on Solitary are based on my natural abilities, I also have a sneaking suspicion that they would be the very things that prevent me from qualifying for the show. I am an insomniac and very much used to having to operate at full mental capacity on no sleep for days (sometimes weeks) on end. I have a high pain tolerance and am able to almost completely ignore my pain due to various surgeries, injuries and accidents over the years. I am also already a little mentally unbalanced, and I know how to keep myself from slipping further into it.
