I probably should have posted this yesterday, but I really didn't think anyone would believe me until I had the pics to prove it...
So I was out with John and Grace yesterday and we went to our friends' Gordie and Gail's for dinner. We finish and are sitting in the living room waiting for our stomachs to be ready for dessert when all of a sudden, movement from outside catches my eye. The first words to leave my mouth were, "Is that a pirate?"
Grace, thinking that it's prolly just some little kid dressed up, leans over into my lap and starts busting out laughing. Sure enough, across the street is a full grown man dressed as a pirate. Now, at this point, he hadn't turned around so we didn't know anything other than there was a full grown male dressed as a pirate.
One would think that, given some of my friends, this wouldn't really come as a surprise. I assure you, it did.
The next thoughts (knowing me and what can only be my friends) to occur to us is that it could be one of three things. He's either there for a kid's party, he's there for a costume party, or he's a stripper.
He turns around and, all of a sudden, you have three grown women screaming, "That's Jack Sparrow!"
Needless to say, the men were mystified at how mystified we were.
None of us had the gumption to go across the street to ask for a picture, a fact which only bothered us because we couldn't get a decent one from inside Gail and Gordie's house. So Gordie (bless that man) took the camera, went across the street, and got a few pictures.
Our dear look-alike had the character down pat (as one can only do without ruining everyone's lust... I mean LOVE of the character), right down to the fake accent.
You can now find these pics posted on my MySpace (
