A Goal Completed!

After seven years of writing together, scribbulus_ink and I have fulfilled a goal - completion of our first non-fanfiction novel! We are just waiting to get it back from our betas before submitting it!

A teaser... )

Hee! Thanks! I just hope we can find a publisher to take it. It WILL be an online one. :D

In some ways I can't believe we finally did it, but we've been writing AU for so long that I guess it just clicked that we COULD. Now to have our egos totally deflated by the publishing establishment... ;)

Good luck with that. :D

The stories you've done together in the past have always been amazing. Hopefully you'll be one of the great luck stories. You both certainly deserve it.

Aw, thanks! We have both loved writing L/S and in a lot of ways it was our mad love of those characters that made it hard to even *want* to strike out on our own. We had to step back and take a deep breath (and not give in to mad Snupin plot bunnies!) before it could happen.

I'm not kidding myself that we're the next JKRs, but we both love telling stories, so hopefully that comes across. It would be awesome to be able to make a living at doing what we love, but I'm not giving up my day job yet. ;)

Although, I have to admit some of the stories I've read in the M/M press market aren't nearly as good as most of that produced by the fanfic writers I know. There are at least a dozen L/S writers who are every bit as talented as the people I've read doing it professionally.

I know the feeling. I'm still in the editing process of my own original, and every step of the process is nerve wracking. Not to mention having to contain the fandom muses to keep them from peeking in.

I have a couple of links for online publishers, but I'm not sure how good they are/easy they are to get into. Do you have any places you're trying, or are you still looking?

From the AUs I've seen you two do in the last few years, I'd say you have plenty of great ideas, and between the two of you, you already have so many years of writing experience and amazing stories under your belts.
