I have been on a computer kick lately. I ended my D and D game a few weeks ago, and I am now filling the hole it left with a weekly LAN party. Because of this I decided/noticed that my hard drive was lacking, since I have filled it twice. I went out and bought a 250g Serial ata 7200rpm 300MB/s hard drive. OOOHHHH, yeah... Did that just put me into the arena of Nerds? Either way now I have LOTS of space to keep everything I could possably need.
The Lan parties are going like wildfire... I have an 8 port 10/100 switch, we filled it last night. My computer came with a 10/100/1000 network card, so i have started to look into the cost of getting a 100/1000 switch... it will cost me a bit ,but I will greatly expand the number and speed of my network. Any of you people that come to the lan(btw if you live near me and want to come let me know) what do you think of getting new network cards that are 100/1000? I am going to make sure no one has to buy a new card, but I wanted opinions. I think the cards range in price from $10-$30, and any card would work with the setup. --Derek

Does anyone know where to get network cables cheap? I tried making my own and they only worked if they were 2 feet long or less.
