overdue update
it has been long, I shall try and be brief:
I work at a place called Berlitz Language Center. This is what I do: I am the office manager, assistant director, I do some sales, all of the scheduling, and I am the instructor Trainer. People come to us when they want to learn a language, any language, and I match them up with a person who speaks that language. I am currently brushing up on my Spanish, and then I think I'll study Italian. After that, maybe I'll hit one of the eastern languages; Japanese or Mandarin. Work is 2 miles from my house, so what I lack in salary (I lack a lot in that department) I make up for in having almost no travel expenses.
Shanna and I are finding a surprising number of subtle ways to "gothify" our wedding. It has become something of a game; as we check off each of the 473 things we need to do/have/get/etc., we try to think of ways to improve upon the task in question. Little things, subtle, like stamps on the invitations that show Ophelia in a pond, or having the florist incorporate lots of candles into the arrangements. Fun stuff.
The house is coming along slowly. Mostly, it is just sucking my will. My in-laws-to-be have been very gracious in helping us paint, for which I am thankfull, but they do not bother to use any sort of edging tool, so the paint on the walls is a little on the ceiling, and the ceiling paint is a little on the walls, all over. It is driving me a little insane. Alot. If I don't put up quarter-round or crown molding soon, I will probably kill the mailman with a paint-brush handle.
Our dog is insane. Seriously.
I am a horrible friend in that I never call or write anyone, I don't dont' visit, I dont' invite anyone to come visit me; I just plain suck. But as this job consumes me less, and Shanna has a break from school coming up, maybe I will once again pull my head out of the sand and say hello to people.
