School is about to start, so I have to do all the running for that on top of taking my sister on her errands and doctor's appointments. I'm on of your 'old' followers XD. And I got the password from you (which I think is easy enough thing to do/request) and I know why you put that password in the first place.
And you gladly put the password in the open in your LJ post. In the place which is easily reachable. And the always considerate you (I think you're too nice) replied to each and every comment requesting password (just because their too lazy to find it them self).
So, when the very busy you got no time the check your email (because you have a real life obviously) and there's this very ungrateful very impatient very rude person saying all those thing to you. I think I would totally understand if you're snapped.
If I were you, I would totally lock down the main site and give a password to the front page (less work and very efficient).
Because there's no telling that these kind of people would learn their lesson.
That's said, I would agree on what decision you would take. Because this is your LJ and you site and you're to do what you want with it. Including blocking some rude people to have and access to it.
I hope this things won't troubled you for long, because there's still many people who support you ^^
