Ve Haf Vays of Making You Talk...

So Wednesday, I went to the neurologist to have the evil torture test, right? Yeah, I wasn't looking forward to it, as I'm sure you may remember. So i went in and he had me lay down on the table. Then he made a joke that started to put me at ease :: "Before I start using my $20k machine, I'm gonna whip out my $1.99 tape measure first." He marked off a couple spots on my arm, then started to explain what he was going to do, and commented that he wouldn't need to use the needles on me. Thank Gods! So he did the first test near my wrist. It was funky and I didn't like my hand spasming and flailing like a dead fish, but it didn't really hurt so much. Then he explained what he was doing and moved on to my elbow area. Yeah, that? FAIL. I hated it. It had my whole lower arm spasming and it didn't feel all that great. Then he did the third section, just above my elbow. Same reaction, tho' slightly less freaky than the below the elbow spot. Then he made some comment about me being one of "them", based on the results he got. So he found another spot to test [I later found out it was my carpal nerve, or whatever it's called], and he got my OTHER fingers spasming. So all 4 spots were tested like 3 times with 3-5 jolts each. Really didn't like that.

Turns out, I'm wired crookedly. I guess there's some spot where my ulnar and carpal nerves are crossed, which was why the results were kinda skewed. So the end analysis was that there might be a fiber or two that are impinged, but he saw no neuropathy of my ulnar nerve. So we're back to square one. The weird thing about it was he was saying something about the sensitivity in the pinky finger is supposed to be like 9 or 12, and mine was 40. I'm not really sure what that means, but I'll just wait until my regular doc tells me the next step on the 16th of May. Oh, and I'm not supposed to have my arm bent for long periods of time or rest my weight on it, as both of those can impinge the nerve and cause pain. Still nothing about the tinglies/numbness in my fingers. *sigh*

So yeah, back at squre one again. *sigh*

But boy, was my elbow fucking PISSED at me Wednesday night. I couldn't sit at the computer at all. I was able to do a little crocheting, but that was it. And I was REALLY tired, too. It was like all those jolts just fucking zapped my energy to nothing. So I ended up going to bed early that night....
