Author's Notes: This was originally written for the seventh week challenge over at lastficstanding, which was to write a drabble of exactly 100 words. I've wanted to write for these characters since I first heard the music from the musical. And yes, this particular piece will end up showing itself again in a longer version, as my Glinda muse really wants to explore this whole angsty situation more. Go figure!

I hate Elphaba Thropp with an intense, roiling loathing not felt since Shiz.
My detestation only waned when Elphie swayed Morrible to admit me into her sorcery seminar. I couldn't hate the complex -- dare I say beautiful? -- creature hidden beneath that verdigris.
Hate became love, for both of us, but her passion for equality couldn't be quelled. She left me to clean up her messes in a twisted lie of duality: Glinda the Good publicly hates the Witch, Galinda the girl privately mourns her Elphie with a soul-wrenching pain that defies remedy.
I must hate her to survive.
