The Prophecy

So I'm sitting here, working on my femslash07 pinch hit and I turned on the TV to see that The Prophecy started. Of course, I turn it on. I first saw this movie probably almost 2 years ago, down at the farm in Enumclaw, at amyrayh's mom's insistence. She had this thing for weird/quirky movies. I, of course, was hooked within a few moments, despite being exhausted, and had to watch the whole damned thing [started at like 11pm or midnight that night].

Anyway, I love this movie. And so, of course, between the memory of Julie getting me to watch this and just liking it, I turned it on. Plus? shatterpath is still asleep, so no worries about her poo-pooing it. This is probably the first movie that I really liked Christopher Walken in, and could see humor in his portrayal. Of course, I also first saw this movie after I'd seen the Fatboy Slim video for "Weapon of Choice," which is still my all-time favorite CW thing. *snickers*

And Viggo as Lucifer? Big huge FTW!!! *swoons* I think he's hotter in this role than as Aragorn. Hands down, yo! That silky voice of his? *hee*

Can I just say that I tweaked out watching the beginning of this movie? I was swearing up and down that Elias Koteas was actually Chris Meloni. And then I was all over the idea of Chris Meloni and Viggo Mortensen in the same movie together. Now imagine my dismay that it wasn't CM. I was exceedingly bummed... *sigh*

The odd thing? I normally HATE Virginia Madsen, like with a white hot seething passion/rage. And she wasn't half-bad in this flick. Which just creeps me the fuck out, for some reason...

*sigh*

Y'know, I once made the mistake of watching the sequel to this movie. Nobody of consequence in it but Walken, and he wasn't enough to carry it for me. And now I hear that there was a 2nd sequel/3rd movie. I don't even know if I should try to find/watch it. Okay, having perused IMDB, it appears there were 4 sequels. Oh hell no! Not if you paid me.... Well, unless Viggo's in another of them...

And because I don't have an icon of Viggo, I'll use one of my favorite David Wenham icons instead...
